The Bingzhou Governor's Department, referred to as Bingzhou, is located in central and northern China. It was originally formed by the merger of the Shuofang Governor's Department of the Western Han Dynasty and the Bingzhou Governor's Department. It is governed by Jinyang (now Taiyuan, Shanxi). The scope includes most of today's Shanxi Province and central and southern Inner Mongolia.

Bingzhou Governor's Department (population 664,000)
1. Dong Zhuo (about 176-181), moved to the prefect of Hedong.
2. Zhang Yi (about 181-188), killed by the Hu Hu.
3. Ding Yuan (188-189), moved to Jinwu.
4. A high-ranking official (199-206), appointed by Yuan Shao, and was killed by Cao Cao.
5. Zhang Zhi (206), established by Cao Cao.
6. Liang Xi (206-213, 220-228), 213-220 was abolished and merged into Jizhou, but his position was retained and later relocated to Bingzhou. He had many political achievements and was later moved to Grand Secretary Agriculture.
