18. Lame Donald (Part 2)

Two months later, New Mexico.
Astronomer Jane Foster finally completed her master's thesis, and it was time for her to leave this place where she had lived for more than three months.
Her fellow traveler Dr. Eric Shavig and her assistant, junior Dassie Louise, were already a little impatient.
Although the scenery of this town is good and although it is very free to stay here, it is not as comfortable as life in a big city.
"Come on, secretly made barbecue!"
Thor, who was wearing an apron, placed a large plate of barbecue on the garage table. The young man Daisy waved his knife and wanted to cut a piece for tasting. Dr. Eric was still sorting out the information, while the quiet Jane packed her clothes aside.
They were flying tomorrow morning and were going back to New York. Jane and Dr. Eric had to go to Europe and probably wouldn't be able to return to this place again for a long time.
So this meal is equivalent to a breakup meal for this small team.
"Wow, this meat is awesome."
Daisy is a lively girl. While cutting meat, she said to Thor who was drinking beer beer beer:
“How did you make it?”
"secret."
Thor blinked, and he said:
"If I can't find a job in the future, I will have to rely on this trick to make money to support myself. This cannot be disclosed casually."
"Thor, are you really not going to New York with us?"
Dr. Eric smelled the aroma of barbecue, and the greedy worms in his stomach were gulping, making him unable to concentrate on his work.
After weighing the trade-offs for a few seconds, he decisively left the chair from his heart and sat at the dining table, eating and saying to Thor:
"I have some friends in New York, maybe I can introduce you to a job."
"No, Eric, thank you for your kindness."
Thor was very open-minded.
As he said, the difficult thing is the process of making decisions. Once a decision is made, the subsequent things will not be that difficult.
He leaned against the chair, put his cane aside, and sipped his beer lazyly, he said:
"I was very busy before, but now I'm just idle. I'm planning to relax for a while. Don't worry about me. If I decide to go to that New York, I will contact you on my own initiative."
As he spoke, he took out his cell phone from his pocket and shook it, he said:
"I have your phone number."
"All right."
Dr. Eric no longer persuaded Thor to live to his age and understand a truth. There is no banquet that lasts forever in this world. They have been together for more than two months, and maybe it is time to say goodbye.
"Thor, what you told me is interesting."
A moment later, Jane walked to the table, holding a note in her hand, the beautiful intellectual girl with long chestnut hair and brown eyes said to Thor:
"I have been studying it recently, and I found that your theory is logically consistent. Although it sounds a bit incredible and completely contrary to the existing astronomy theory foundation, maybe, maybe your theory is right."
She looked at Thor and said:
"I will continue to study. If there are results in the future, I will share this honor with you."
"No, Jane, no."
Thor waved his hand as if he didn't care about anything, and he took a sip of beer, he said:
"I don't know much. In our place, according to your words, I am a complete poor student. I just told you the most basic things, and the rest are all developed by you."
"It's like I'm just a sentry guard who brings you into the battlefield and you kill the enemy general with your own hands. That honor is also what you deserve, and you don't need to share it with anyone."
Speaking of this, Thor turned his head and blinked at Jane, and he said:
"What's more, I need to keep a low profile. I don't have an identity certificate, no driver's license, and no passport. I'm a 'black household' now. It's not good to be too famous."
Jane wanted to say something, but Dr. Eric next to her suddenly raised the bottle and he whispered:
"Come on, celebrate the completion of Jane's paper and also celebrate the successful end of our scientific expedition. Everyone can drink it tonight, and we will go home early tomorrow morning."
"cheers!"
The young girl Daisy, who was eating barbecue and was full of oil, also raised the bottle and cheered, Thor would not refuse the invitation to drink from his friends.
Anyway, the meal was very pleasant and comfortable.
More than an hour later, Thor limped and sent Dr. Eric back to her RV, Jane also sent Daisy, who was drunk and confused back to her room. She began to clean the dining table, and Thor also came to help with a cane.
"Thor."
As Thor moved the table to the other side of the garage, Jane behind him suddenly said:
"Are you really a prince?"
"Why do you ask that?"
Thor turned around, leaned against the wall with a smile, looking at Jane with her cheeks flushed.
The always restrained astronomer also drank a lot tonight, Thor looked at her, pointing at his head and jokingly said:
"Don't you know everything? I was talking nonsense those days. Well, I was hit by Daisy in a car, and then hit by that crazy girl with a Taser, which made my brain short-circuit."
"Will a person with a short-circuited brain suddenly become a genius?"
Jane picked up her notebook, she walked towards Thor, she said:
"I don't believe that an ordinary person will know these... these nouns based on myths and legends have combined certain truths of this star in front of me in a very scientific and even extremely advanced way."
"I'm a scientist, Thor."
Jane stood in front of Thor, her eyes were a little confused, she said to Thor:
"I don't believe in nonsense myths, but I believe in the data and what I have developed with my own hands...that you know is definitely not what you imagined out of thin air. You are from another world, right?"
"A world that is more advanced than the earth, a world that can break the mystery of stars, I guess... you were not talking nonsense at that time, you were Thor! The legendary Thor!"
"No, Jane."
Thor turned his head away, he didn't look at Jane's eyes, and he whispered:
"I'm not, I'm just an expelled person, I'm an ordinary person, just like you."
"You used to be!"
Jane refused to let go. She grabbed Thor's collar indulgently. Under the influence of alcohol, she said to the somewhat lame, mysterious, handsome and masculine young man in front of her:
"You can't deceive me, Thor, you used to be the legendary Thor. The night we met you, Eric and Daisy didn't see it, but I saw it, the colorful halo that suddenly appeared, it was like a passage..."
"That's the Rainbow Bridge, right? You appeared from that Rainbow Bridge, and then in the wind and sand, Daisy accidentally bumped into you."
Jane looked into Thor's eyes and said:
"You liar! You lied to us, you lied to everyone."
"You're drunk, Jane."
Thor reached out his hand and placed it gently on Jane's shoulder, pushing Jane, who was smelling alcohol, backwards, and he whispered:
"It's time to go and rest. You have to take a plane tomorrow."
"I want you to go with me, Thor."
Jane held Thor's hand, and the always-civilized astronomer spoke her thoughts at this moment, she said:
"I can help you, Thor, you can tell me more, I can continue to study the theory of Rainbow Bridge, and maybe one day I can send you home."
"I can't go home."
Thor looked at Jane's eyes and said with a little sadness:
"I was exiled because I foolishly stick to my principles and I will spend my life on Earth."
"Then is there any one of your principles that a lady would rudely reject her when she invited you?"
Jane snorted, under the garage light, she looked at Thor, and she said:
"Eric always treats me as a child, but I am already an adult, I know how to arrange my life...and you..."
Jane stretched out her fingers and stroked Thor's beard, she said frivolously:
"There are few men as masculine as you, just treat it as... leaving a wonderful memory, okay?"
"You're drunk, Jane."
Thor resisted, but the next moment Jane's hand went down Thor's waist, she blinked at Thor, she said:
"I said I didn't want it, but my body was very honest."
"Well, you are so smart and overly smart woman!"
Thor sighed, and he picked Jane up in the waist, and in Jane's scream he said:
"This is the end of you provoking Thor."
Outside the garage, on the branches in the dark, Meilin stood there quietly, and he said to Muning, the raven who was also silent beside him:
"I remember Thor had a fiancée? It's Sif, right?"
"Sif is the princess chosen by his good brother Odin and his wife Friga for Thor, but Asgard has no fiancé."
"And according to our observation, Thor and Sif have been playing together since childhood, and he regards Sif more as a brother... Once we saw that Sif waited for Thor in the garden all night, but Thor was more willing to drink with his brother until late at night."
The raven Munning rattled, and it said:
"Thor may have never fallen in love with a woman... This Midgart woman undoubtedly attracted his interest, and it might be a good thing."
"But in my opinion, this is more of a ** cause."
Merlin pushed his glasses, and he explained in a very professional tone:
"Thor made the decision, he didn't want to bow his head to Odin, he thought he was right, and for this he would rather give up the possibility of returning to Asgard."
"But this decision was heavy, it made Thor depressed for a while, and Jane worked with him every day, and she was also a very outstanding woman herself. It was not surprising that the two of them completed the union under the influence of repressed **."
"But is there really a love between him and Jane? I'm very suspicious..."
Merlin shook his head and sighed. The scene before him reminded him of himself and Carol, he said:
"It's a pity that I've seen Sif. The general seems to have feelings for Thor, which means that Thor can't control his lower body. He caused himself a problem, just tonight..."
"It's a pity that he has been carrying a love debt."
"We don't understand what you said."
Muning raised her head and said to Meilin:
"After all, we are just a bird, and we don't need to fall in love. As long as we need it, the female ravens in the entire divine realm are our lovers! Also, what do you have to wait until you send that thing to Thor?"
"No hurry."
Meilin stood on the branch and looked at the two people churning in the window reflected in the window. He took out his pocket watch and looked at the time. He said:
"Thor and Jane probably have to wait a while. I'm even more curious, why did Odin make this decision suddenly? Didn't he want Thor's experience to be intervened by external forces?"
"I don't want it, good brother."
Muning shook her head, it said:
"But good brothers don't want to see their son fall to the point of living on earth doing odd jobs and picking up garbage."
"Thor was active as a warrior in the first half of his life. He could hardly do anything except war. The earth is changing too quickly now. My good brother realized that he was a little reckless when he made a decision, so he made a remedy..."
"You can't let Thor make a living by fighting war on earth."
"so what?"
Mei Linmu had a face and he said to the raven:
"Do you want me to find him a decent job? Do you want me to find him an apartment? I will help him pay for the room? Please, I am not Thor's nanny."
"It's not something you can do for nothing!"
Munning screamed:
"Good brother, I'll give you a reward!"
"Or why don't you return that rune magic book now! Let's go find someone else to do it. Not only one person on Earth has connections with Asgard."
"No, no, I mean..."
Meilin squinted his eyes, he looked at Muning, and he said:
"This remedy doesn't seem to be done by Odin, and I don't think a real king will go back on his word..."
"Tell me honestly, who instructed this matter?"
Under Meilin's gaze, the Raven Muning seemed a little guilty. It turned his head away and covered his face with its wings. After a few seconds, Muning said a little unwillingly:
"Well, you smart Midgart..."
"This is indeed not the request of the good brother Odin. The good brother is still fighting, and he has no energy to take care of this."
"It was the request of the queen Friga. She could not disobey Odin's decision, but she still wanted her son to live more comfortably in Midgart. Anyway, this would not affect Thor's trial."
"really."
Merlin nodded, and he asked seriously:
"You make sure I helped, and I won't be liquidated by Odin in the future, right?"
"No! The queen will help you hide this secret."
Muning funnyly stretched out her wings and made a swearing move, it said:
"We won't tell my good brother about this. We are also afraid that the queen will get angry. Women will be ruthless, but it's very scary, especially a powerful wizard like the queen. She can turn into roasted quails in minutes and then be swallowed by the foodie Vostag in one bite."
"All right."
Merlin nodded, he had no problems anymore, and after more than ten minutes, when Thor and Jane were finally finished, Merlin cleaned up her clothes and fell into the front of the garage.
The windbreaker on his body changed rapidly, and he became a uniform that Ems deliveryman often wore, and there was an extra hat on his head.
Merlin rubbed his face and changed his appearance. He reached out and knocked on the door in front of the garage, and said:
"Is Mr. Donald here? Mr. Donald Black? Are you there?"
"Your package is here, please check it out, thank you."
Soon, Thor, who heard the sound, limped out of the garage in pairs of shorts. He looked at the deliveryman standing at the door in confusion, and said:
"There is no one here named Donald, you sent the wrong one."
"No?"
Merlin took something out of his pocket in disbelief. He flipped the thing over and said:
"But you look exactly like him..."
"Look, this is your lost passport, driver's license and identity certificate, Mr. Donald, and your letter of admission to the Department of Medicine at Columbia University. These important things must be carried with you."
"Also, congratulations, Mr. Donald, you will become a doctor in a few years. This is the highest-paid and most respected industry nowadays."
Thor frowned and walked forward, and he took the package from Merlin.
He looked at the passport with his avatar and the instructions on the passport. After a moment, he looked at Merlin, who had changed his appearance, and said:
"Who sent these things?"
"Oh, this one."
Merlin took out a pen and asked Thor to sign the package, and he casually said:
"It's a kind-hearted person named Friga. She picked up these things you lost and entrusted us to send them."
