Chapter 678: Evolved version of universal love and non-aggression
To be honest, Fei Qian is not very good at direct theoretical refutations and disputes. Talking, an elegant sport, is not so easy to master.
More importantly, Fei Qian did not want to take any responsibility or criticize Mozi's moral principles. Even if Mozi's thoughts may have flaws of one kind or another, he is still a leader of his generation, and subsequent generations should carry forward and inherit them.
It’s not about blindly trampling on the corpses of predecessors to prove one’s greatness, nor is it about slavishly accepting everything and not being able to change it at all.
But how can we better express this concept?
Fei Qian was silent for a long time, and then asked: "I wonder if Juzi is getting married?"
"Never." Mo Jie shook his head.
Well, Fei Qian changed the question to another one and said: "Jiuzi is walking in the countryside. Does it mean that people like to have children, or even more like to have daughters?"
Mo Jie said: "I'm even more excited to have a baby." Mo Jie walked around a large area, and the people basically expressed their emotions very directly. They were happy after the birth of a son, but complained about the birth of a daughter.
"Why? Women are not born of oneself?" Fei Qian then asked, "Under the same roof, flesh and blood, there is a difference between love and hate. May I ask Juzi, how about universal love?"
The first moral principle of Mohism is universal love.
But the problem is, no one can do it.
Mohist morality is basically of this type, which is somewhat idealistic and even forward-thinking, similar to the situation in communist society, "universal love", everyone loves everyone, "sameness", and all members are equal.
Both young and old have somewhere to support themselves, "no offense", no disputes, everything is based on actual needs, "saving burial", "saving use", no waste, everyone in the entire society is like a whole...
But human beings are inherited by blood. This blood relationship, well, maybe one day ideological awareness reaches a certain level, or the continuation of human life relies on mechanization and breaks away from the blood tie. Otherwise, no matter ancient and modern, China and foreign countries, it will be a top-down
blood society.
Since the Western Zhou Dynasty, China has established a well-organized blood society. All social status, relationships, etc. are bound by blood ties.
It can be said that a person's life is completely inseparable from the position determined by blood. Different starting lines have been drawn when he was born, it is just a matter of how well the person runs later.
Confucianism was born out of this kind of bloodline ethics, and then rebellious boys like the Mohists were born.
But at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, the original blood relationship of the old aristocrats in the Zhou Dynasty began to collapse. Some people who were outside the blood society had problems with their self-positioning. On the one hand, some of them directly lost their blood ties.
Some have lost contact with their families due to weak blood ties. On the other hand, they long for a higher political level and social status, so these people gather together spontaneously. The relationship between them obviously cannot be blood ties.
The love of family members in the world, this new social relationship requires a new positioning, and universal love appears.
So it's very simple. No matter how well packaged or how shiny the various doctrines and thoughts are, they all serve certain corresponding classes. After taking off that layer of clothing, what is hidden underneath will always be
Bloody interests.
The Mohist universal love, simply put, is equal love. The love for everyone in the world is the same. Other people's father is your own father, and other people's children are your own children.
Well, Cao Cao and Cao Mengde seem to have done a good job in this regard. Of course, Cao Cao only did half of it. So even the philanthropic Cao Cao cannot achieve 100% love, let alone ordinary people in the world?
After understanding what Fei Qian meant, Mo Jie felt as if he had been hit hard. He seemed to have aged several years, and the wrinkles on his dark face became deeper and darker. He lowered his head.
.
It can be argued that the common people do not understand Mohist teachings and do not understand the principle of universal love, but conversely, why do Confucian moral principles exist for a long time even though the common people may not understand them?
"...Is it wrong..." Mo Jie murmured to himself.
Since Mo Jie was able to adhere to the simple attire and requirements of the Mohists and hike the Chinese land for several years, it shows that he agrees with and adheres to the morality of the Mohists. Therefore, Fei Qian did not directly argue against the morality of the Mohists.
That would inevitably arouse strong resistance from Mo Jie.
Fei Qian then only told one fact, a fact that Mo Jie had seen with his own eyes and could not get around.
Of course, the reason why such a sentence can touch Mo Jie is because the Mohist school, which was once tyrannical for a while, has withered. Just like Marx also needed to borrow money to buy bread. At that moment of borrowing money, how much confidence could Marx have?
?
Especially when someone who had read Mohist books said this, this kind of frustration made Mo Jie feel even more lost.
"Juzi, clinging to deficiencies and being old-fashioned, is like a piece of wood rotting away. It is not a wise move. Mohist morality is good, but it is too extreme and cannot be tolerated by the common people, so..." Fei Qian looked at Mo Jie and felt a little regretful. If he added a little more
Correction, Mohist morality is actually a good spiritual guiding force, just like the later generations...
"Please make it clear," Mo Jie said. In fact, Mo Jie also felt that there might be some problems with the morality of the Mohist family, otherwise he would not have asked Fei Qiandong, but after all, one was in the mountains and it was difficult to see clearly.
One reason is subconscious self-avoidance.
"For example, universal love is more important than the word "universal". Don't ask for the same, take what you have and teach it, and praise it." Fei Qian said. Love other people's children as much as you love your own. Well, you can still do it to a certain extent, but
To love other people's wives as you love your own wife, well, Cao Cao can do it, but to love other people's parents as you love your own parents? So where does the unfilial son start?
So, when you have spare energy, take some out to help others and love others. Wouldn't this be more acceptable than forcing everyone to treat everyone equally? Then commend and commend those who do this.
, then naturally more people will be willing to do such things.
Mo Jie raised his head slightly, thoughtfully.
"No offense." Fei Qian sighed, this was another doctrine caused by Mozi's extreme romanticism, and said, "How can there be a sinless country? How can there be a dispute that benefits others? Once the war starts, use everything.
To the extreme, when the Hu people go south, how can they not intend to attack? Therefore, it cannot be generalized as not to attack. If we are friends, we cannot bully them. If we are enemies, we can do anything."
In other words, you should treat your comrades as warm as spring, and treat your enemies as ruthlessly as winter. Fei Qian blinked his eyes, and suddenly felt that what he told had a strange sense of familiarity...
The author doesn't understand the Mohist family very well... So for the time being, the generous family will just listen to it... Don't argue, don't slander... The boss has said that we must be harmonious...
