Chapter 1,142 Glazing once, firing once

Since the craft of building lamps was lost in the Song Dynasty for more than 800 years, generations of craftsmen have continued to work hard to pass down the culture of building lamps.

Finally, in 1981, the country successfully restored the craftsmanship of making jianzhan.

The knowledge that Chen Wenzhe learned previously was inherited from these domestic masters.

In 1981, Tu Hao Zhan was burned again, but the restoration of Yaobian Jian Zhan created an insurmountable technical gap, leaving people helpless.

Not only in China, but also abroad, there are many neon, French and other overseas ceramic artists who have devoted their life's energy to solving the mystery of obsidian technology.

However, Yaobian skills are like Mount Everest, standing in front of them, making it difficult to make progress.

But nowadays, there are a group of craftsmen who have a special liking for building lamps. They have taken over the firewood of their predecessors, restarted the kiln, kept approaching the ancient style of the Song Dynasty, and finally succeeded in firing.

Among them, Master Lu Jinxi is one of the representative craftsmen.

This is why Chen Wenzhe was lucky. A few years ago, even if he wanted to learn how to make obsidian lamps, he could not find a temple.

Therefore, the collection and appreciation of 5678 porcelain are not without reason.

If you really want to count, the rabbit hair lamp that was successfully refired in 1981 can be regarded as a type of 567 porcelain.

Such a kind of porcelain, even if it was fired in the 1980s or even the 1990s, is nothing, because its value lies in its craftsmanship, not historical precipitation.

For example, Liuxia lamps, rabbit hair lamps, Mao porcelain, Founding porcelain, National ceremony porcelain, etc., can you ignore their existence just because they are modern works of art?

There is really no way to ignore it. When he was studying jianzhan and learning the techniques of jianzhan firing, the photo that shocked Chen Wenzhe the most was a photo of the modern jianzhan-firing master Master Lu Jinxi.

His works speak for themselves! Arranged in a circle facing each other, from the first generation to the eighth generation, there are 10 obsidian lamps, which will shock anyone who sees them.

That’s right, it’s Lu Jinxi’s Yaobian Jianzhan works from the first generation to the eighth generation!

This circle of 10 lamps bears witness to the culmination of more than 20 years of research by Lu Jinxi, and is a masterpiece of the painstaking efforts of three generations of masters and apprentices!

Lu Jinxi is a master of ceramic art in Fujian Province, a master of arts and crafts (ceramics), an art appraiser, appraiser, senior technician, and a senior expert and collector of ancient book culture and old house culture.

Master Lu was born in the birthplace of Jianzhan and had an indissoluble bond with Jianzhan. He devoted himself to Chen Hui, a member of the first group of experts to restore Jianzhan at a young age.

At that time, he developed an infatuated love for Jianzhan that he could not let go of.

And his master is a famous art master in my country, an academic leader and art educator in my country's arts and crafts circles, an expert in ancient porcelain art, and the only art consultant for the most authoritative academic masterpiece "History of Chinese Ceramics" , Mr. Deng Bai, a leader in theoretical research on Chinese ceramic art.

History has proven that the trajectory of social development often changes only because of a small turning point.

The restoration of Yaobian Jianzhan originated from a solemn instruction from the Chinese art master Deng Bai!

In 1979, my country organized an expert group for the first time to study the restoration of Jianzhan making techniques.

In 1981, a team of experts successfully restored the firing techniques of rabbit-hair lamps used in kilns built in the Song Dynasty.

Mr. Deng Bai specially rushed to Jianyang, where the kiln was built in the Song Dynasty, to congratulate him and inspect the research results of Jianzhan.

He also presented a painting to Chen Hui, his direct disciple and one of the first domestic experts to restore Jianzhan, and repeatedly told the expert team to persevere in researching the restoration of Yaobianzhan so that the Jianzhan inheritance can be carried forward.

It was precisely because of the teacher's encouragement and instructions that Chen Hui came up with the idea of becoming a disciple.

In this way, Lu Jinxi, who was smart, dedicated and interested in Jianzhan since childhood, became Chen Hui's only apprentice.

It is because of these that Yao can truly transform his skills and be reborn from the ashes!

For decades, under the influence of the words and deeds of his predecessors, Lu Jinxi has devoted himself to studying the craftsmanship of jianzhan and firing.

For more than 20 years, Shangqiongbiluoxiahuangquan has acquired a large number of fragments of Jianzhan from the Song Dynasty with obsidian elements.

He collected a large amount of literature, including consulting fragments of Song Dynasty materials and reading Song poems about tea.

He also used modern scientific and technological means to detect the content of various trace elements in the fragments.

It can be said that he constantly adjusted the ratio of raw materials and the selection of glaze to explore the melting temperature and chemical reaction timing of the porcelain body and glaze components.

In addition, we observe the transformation of the natural environment and temperature atmosphere inside and outside the kiln under different conditions.

Finally, in 2015, Lu Jinxi, who had been immersed in the study of obsidian changes for more than 20 years, finally managed to keep the clouds clear and see the moonlight after an arduous exploration that was almost like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

For the first time in the world, he successfully restored the craftsmanship of Yaobian Jianzhan, and developed a new Yaobian lamp that is closest to the Song Dynasty Yaobian Tianmu.

Glazing once, firing once!

This is really an example of staying true to your original intention and always succeeding!

Since then, Lu Jinxi has accumulated a lot of experience and worked step by step, and has developed a mature set of Yaobian firing techniques.

Nowadays, we are steadily improving Yaobian firing skills step by step.

His skills were as high as those of the Song Dynasty.

At present, his "Yao Bian" jianzhan works have been collected by many museums in England, Neon and other countries and regions.

It was also at this time that Chen Wenzhe truly understood what a Yao Bian Zhan was and the elements that a Yao Bian Zhan must possess.

According to the research of many experts and professors in the industry at home and abroad, especially after appreciating the three national treasures of the Song Dynasty Yaobian Tianmu in the Neon Museum, the Fang family unanimously determined that the real "Yobian" lamp should meet five characteristics.

The first is iron tire, thick glaze, fired at high temperature;

The second is natural mineral glaze, which is glazed and fired at one time;

The third spot nucleus is round in shape, of different sizes, and clustered in groups;

Fourth, the color halo changes the color of the lamp body as the light and angle change;

Fifth, there are colorful rabbit hairs inside the lamp.

The restored Yaobian Jianzhan developed by Master Lu is undoubtedly the closest to the characteristics of the Song Dynasty Yaobian Jianzhan in the world today.

This point has been unanimously recognized by experts in the industry, including Dr. Ren Xiaolin, an expert on ancient neon porcelain, and researcher Lin Zhonggan from the Fujian Provincial Museum.

They jointly determined that Lu Jinxi Yaobian was closest to the Song Dynasty Yaobian.

And all of this certainly won’t happen overnight.

Chen Wenzhe was completely immersed in learning. He did not fall asleep this time, but he still achieved the effect of immersive learning.

His mind was completely sucked into the Pearl of Sui Hou, and he was directly immersed in Master Lu's work, study, and research.

He seemed to have become another Master Lu, and he seemed to be a bystander experiencing it firsthand.

Although it felt a bit complicated, Chen Wenzhe was soon attracted by Master Lu's craftsmanship.

If you want to succeed in anything and do your best, you need to work hard.

Talented people who work hard and persevere will naturally achieve success.

And Chen Wenzhe followed Master Lu, step by step, from the dripping glaze cup, to the rabbit hair cup, to the flare cup, and then gradually to the reburned obsidian cup.
