Chapter 21 Holy Cross Town

In the vast wilderness, the hover car rushed towards a quiet town.

"It feels so good to meet people." Bergobold was the first to get out of the car.

Dongchen hugged Annie and found that the people in this city were very strange, with a strange way of saying no.

"May the Holy Light protect you. Outsiders, are you believers in the Lord?" An old man with a big cross on his chest and in good spirits stopped at the intersection.

Dongchen frowned: "We are not believers of the Holy Cross Cult, we are free mercenaries."

"Oh, aren't you willing to throw yourself into the arms of the Lord? When the end comes, only those who believe in the Lord can be saved. My child, only those who believe in the Lord can obtain eternal life."

"Old man, get out of the way, you're blocking the way." Christina stared at the cat's eyes and took out an energy gun.

The barrel of the gun reflected the metallic light in the sun, and the frightened old man hurriedly stepped aside.

"You're going to hell."

Listening to the curse coming from behind, Dongchen shrugged: "Christina, that old guy hates you."

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes and put away the gun. Christina smiled nonchalantly: "The missionaries of the Holy Cross Church have such virtues that it's very annoying for them to pester them."

The noisy bar suddenly became quiet.

The mercenaries looked at the four people who pushed the door open and had strange expressions on their faces.

A man and a woman are pretty normal, but what is that strangely dressed monster? Also, that little girl...

"Intelligence, mission." Three black crystal elements were thrown onto the table.

The stunned boss quickly put it away: "What do you want to know? Outsiders, no outsiders have come to Holy Cross Town for a long time."

"What's going on?"

The boss looked outside and saw a nearby mercenary closing the door.

The light in the bar suddenly dimmed a lot.

Dongchen instinctively clenched his weapon, while Christina protected Bergbird.

The boss waved his hand: "Don't be nervous, outsiders, people in this city are crazy. You are lucky, we are the only sane people left."

"What's the meaning?"

"Did you meet old George when you came here?" Seeing Dongchen's confused expression, the boss sighed: "It's the old man with the cross pattern on his chest."

"Is there something wrong with him?" Christina recalled the old man who was scared away by her and looked at the boss strangely.

"What's wrong?" Four wine glasses were placed on the bar, and the boss sneered: "Those who believe in the Lord will have eternal life, and those who don't believe will go to hell. What do you think is wrong? People in the city have become believers in the Lord. What do you think is wrong?

?ā€

The atmosphere in the room instantly cooled down, and the only sound left was the sound of the boss pouring wine.

"What have they done?" Dongchen stared at the boss.

"Materials are distributed uniformly, and all property is confiscated. As long as you dedicate everything to the Lord, the Lord will give you everything." The boss explained sarcastically.

The mercenary in a corner took over the words: "Hand in all the food you get and then divide it up. As long as you believe in the Lord, you can survive."

"What's wrong with this? Wouldn't everyone be able to survive this way?" Annie, who didn't know anything about the world, asked strangely.

Everyone's eyes turned to her, to this innocent child.

The bar owner smiled bitterly: "Human beings are complicated things. My child, you are still young and don't understand."

"elder brother?"

Dongchen looked at the little angel's innocent big eyes and shook his head: "You will understand later."

"Come, brother, have a drink." A glass of wine was pushed in front of Dong Chen, and the boss put another small cup into Annie's hand: "Little angel, try this, it's sweet."

While playing with the wine glasses, they exchanged information with the boss. After arguing for a long time, Dongchen and his party declined the boss's offer to stay overnight and returned to the hover car.

Watching them leave, the bar owner looked at the four full cups in front of him, smiled and raised his hands: "Hey, who wants it? Outsiders are too wary, this is a good thing."

"Dongchen, are we going to go hunting tomorrow?" Christina glanced around and found that the residents of the town looked at them with obvious hostility, which was completely different from before.

Dongchen looked at Bergobold: "How is the energy?"

"It's quite sufficient. I think we should make some repairs here. Don't you want to find new teammates and rebuild the mercenary group? Maybe there are suitable candidates here."

"Okay, let's take part in tomorrow's event. Christina, check to see if there are any good candidates."

"knew!"

Christina was dumbfounded as she stared blankly at the hover car with green cat eyes. Bergbird grabbed her hair and yelled crazily: "Who, who painted my Despair like this?"

, Iā€™m going to strangle him to death.ā€

Huge cross pattern, eye-catching slogan.

The old man who was watching all this from a distance threw the spray paint can proudly.

Those who believe in the Lord will have eternal life, and those who do not believe will go to hell. Lost lambs, repent before the face of the Lord!

The eyes full of murderous intent glanced behind him, and the whole town fell silent at this moment. The villagers closed the doors in twos and threes, and the old man hiding in the shadow suddenly fell to the ground: "He is the devil, the devil!"

"elder brother?"

"It's okay, let's go back."

The spray paint that was passed down before the Civilization Crisis was extremely difficult to clean. Bergbird searched through the storage boxes but could not find anything to put it away, so he could only drink one glass after another of strong drinks: "Don't let me find out who did it, or else,

I will definitely strangle him to death."

"Don't worry, you will have a chance." Dongchen thought of the old man.

At night, the wind and sand blew in the car and made a dark sound. The little angel had already fallen asleep. In the cab, Bergbird was watching adult programs with a groan.

Christina touched Dongchen next to her with her arm: "Can we really find our teammates? The people here don't seem to be very friendly to us."

"It doesn't matter if he is friendly or not. If you can find better teammates, you won't be able to pull them down if you don't find them. Our first priority is to improve our own strength. If we can reach the heaven level, even one person can sweep them all back."

"Heavenly level?" Christina was amused by Dongchen: "Fool, how can it be so easy to reach the heavenly level?"

"As long as you work hard, nothing is impossible. If you don't try, you will never succeed."

"Do you know the proportions of heavenly levels?" Christina touched her wrist, and the energy block beside her exuded a faint blue light.

"I don't know, and I don't want to know." Dongchen turned his head, his eyes firm: "I will definitely reach the heaven level, no matter how difficult it is."

The green cat eyes blinked, and Christina reached out her hand charmingly and pointed at Dongchen's forehead: "The future heaven-level master is sleeping."

"Let's discuss it. Can we put the energy block away?"

"no."

"real?"

"If I say no, I can't. Go to sleep. I have to get up early tomorrow."
