Chapter 127: Dingling

Dingling is the mausoleum of Wanli Emperor Zhu Yijun and his two queens. It was built from 1584 to 1590 and covers an area of 180,000 square meters. The stone slab under the eaves of the Ming Tower is engraved with the word "Dingling", and the four corners and steps are made of huge stones.

It is made up of pieces. The stone tablets in the Ming Tower are engraved with "Da Ming" and "The Mausoleum of Emperor Shenzong Xian". The front and rear of the Ming Tower is the main body of the mausoleum - the underground palace.

The Dingling Underground Palace is currently the only developed underground palace among the Ming Tombs. It is the first planned imperial tomb to be excavated after the founding of the People's Republic of China. A total of more than 3,000 cultural relics of various types were unearthed from the underground palace, including four national treasures: the Golden Crown,

Phoenix Crown, Luminous Pearl and Ming Sancai.

The underground palace of Dingling is entirely made of stone, mostly bluestone, with an area of 1,195 square meters. There are no beams inside, but stone arches, which are quite tall. There are seven 4-ton white marble stone doors in the underground palace, which are ingeniously designed and can be opened and closed flexibly.

The underground palace is divided into the main hall, the side hall, and the front hall, which are exactly the same as the above-ground buildings. The sacrificial vessels are displayed in their original state in the middle hall. There are three white marble pedestals. In front of each pedestal there is a set of yellow glazed five offerings and a large blue and white porcelain jar.

The Zhongyuan was filled with Changming lamp oil for lighting Changming lamps. The coffins of Zhu Xujun and the two queens were placed on the coffin bed in the back hall. Next to the coffins were 26 red-painted wooden boxes filled with funerary objects.

The construction of Dingling Tomb began long before Emperor Wanli's death, and it took 6 years to complete, consuming 8 million taels of silver. Emperor Wanli was only 28 years old when the mausoleum was built, and it was not officially opened until 1620. It is difficult to open so many gold and silver vessels there.

It's not an unexpected thing.

Dingji is just one of the Ming Tombs. The Ming Tombs are the tombs of the emperors of the Ming Dynasty in China. They are located in Tianshou Mountain at the foot of Yanshan Mountain in Changping District, the northwest suburb of Beijing. This place has been open since May of the seventh year of Yongle (1409).

It was first built as a Changling Mausoleum and ended when Chongzhen, the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, was buried in Siling Mausoleum. During this period of more than 230 years, thirteen emperors' tombs, seven concubines' tombs, and one eunuch's tomb were built. A total of thirteen emperors and twenty were buried.

Three queens, two princes, more than thirty concubines, and one eunuch.

"These are the twelve treasures buried with them, but speaking of it, it is not just things that are buried with them, but also people." Liu Dachuan said: "People were sacrificed five thousand years ago. Since the Han Dynasty, most emperors

No more killing and martyrdom. Emperors often left edicts before their death, ordering their childless concubines and palace maids to be released from the palace. Although emperors were occasionally buried alive, they were not as cruel and vicious as Helu. It was not until the Ming Dynasty that the custom of human sacrifice returned.

It has revived and even become a system.”

Luo Tian continued: "After Ming Dynasty's death, a total of 40 concubines were buried with or buried as martyrs. Except for two who died before Ming Dynasty and were finally buried on the east and west sides of Ming Dynasty's mausoleum, the remaining 38 were buried as martyrs.

Death. According to historical records, the five emperors of the Ming Dynasty were accompanied by nearly a hundred concubines. This may be the saddest thing for ancient beauties. The main burial methods in the Ming Dynasty were suicide and hunger strike, but the specific process is unknown.

Seen in official history. In 1464, Ming Yingzong made a decision on his deathbed: starting from him, this system would be abolished. Before his death, his successor Emperor Xianzong once again emphasized not to be buried in sacrifice to express respect for the decision made by the late emperor.

The two generations of emperors persisted in implementing the decision not to bury alive people, which finally brought an end to the human sacrifice system since the early Ming Dynasty."

"However, historical records show that the system of human sacrifice in the imperial family was very popular in the early Qing Dynasty. After the death of Hachi, the Qing Dynasty emperor, the eldest concubine Ulanala and the concubine Ajigen were buried on behalf of Inzha. Later, Emperor Taizong

After Taiji's death, his concubines Zhang Jingdun Dali and Andali were buried. After the death of Shizu Fulin, his concubine Eshi and his bodyguard Fu Dali were martyred. Even after the death of Prince Rui Dorgon, his maid Wuerkuni was also martyred. Not only that.

In this way, local government officials also strongly praised wives and concubines for sacrificing their husbands, calling them martyrs and chaste women, and sometimes even edited books and built memorial arches for them. During the Kangxi period, Zhu Fei, a general of the Han Dynasty, petitioned to stop this cruel practice.

.So, in the twelfth year of Kangxi, the Qing government explicitly prohibited slaves under the Eight Banners' rank and order from being buried with their masters, thus completely ending this kind of human sacrifice."

The three of them spent two hours just white-painting. During this time, Luo Tian had already gone through all the Northeast Gang's auction items. Four of them were fakes and two were old imitations. He discussed with Xie Ming.

After thinking about it for a while, they decided to auction it off. Luo Tian went to explain the fake to Gang Leader Yang. However, the problem was that Gang Leader Yang could not come in person to sign the entrustment agreement. Luo Tian could only call and communicate with Gang Leader Yang and then sign it on his behalf. Yang said on the phone

The gang leader's voice was a little tired. It seemed that the affairs in Tokyo had made him very anxious.

After Luo Tian signed the contract, Xie Ming refused to let him go easily: "It took a lot of effort to get here. Let's have dinner together tonight. How about asking Cheng Zhen to come with us?"

"That's fine." Luo Tian said, just as he was about to announce the news of their marriage.

The lots were sent back to the warehouse. The four fakes were specially marked and temporarily stored in the warehouse. Luo Tian called Cheng Zhen. Cheng Zhen rushed over after get off work. Cheng Zhen and Chen Xiaoying They hadn't seen each other for a long time, and the two women always had endless things to say when they were together. Luo Tian and He Pingwei looked at each other, and He Pingwei said, "These two women might be talking bad about us."

Chen Xiaoying's sharp ears immediately heard: "He Pingwei, what are you talking about?"

"No, I didn't say anything." He Pingwei turned around and stuck out his tongue at Luo Tian: "Women are like this. When you say good things about them, you always take it for granted. Sometimes you pretend you didn't hear it. When you say bad things about them, then

The ears are smarter than the ears that follow the wind."

No, Chen Xiaoying immediately heard it again: "What is Shunfeng Er?"

He Pingwei pursed his lips at Luo Tian and shook his head, which meant, "Look!"

Luo Tian was amused by He Pingwei: "Women are more sensitive, but fortunately most women can't hide things. As long as they get their temper right, they'll be fine. Although Cheng Zhen and I haven't officially married yet,

Living together is actually no different from married life. I feel like that’s all it is. Don’t think about having passion every day.”

"What passion?" He asked about Cao Cao. When Cao Cao arrived, Cheng Zhen came over with a smile: "I thought it was just women who gossiped, but it turns out men are the same way. By the way, everyone is here. Where are we going to eat?"

Luo Tian discussed with Xie Ming and chose a place where they often have dinner at the auction company. That place was very close to the place where Luo Tian stored the Pearl of Asia. Luo Tian was stunned: "That's fine, I haven't eaten there for a long time."

It was rare to get together like this, and the atmosphere at the dinner table was very intense. Luo Tian took advantage of the good atmosphere to announce the news that he was going to marry Cheng Zhen, causing everyone to boo the two, especially Chen Xiaoying, who was envious and envious.

Jealousy, he nudged He Pingwei with his elbow: "They started from behind and are already ahead of us."

He Pingwei pretended to be surprised: "Are you going to propose to me?"

Everyone burst into laughter. Chen Xiaoying couldn't tell whether to laugh or cry. She could only complain to her brother-in-law: "Brother-in-law, look at him, he has no integrity at all. Bah, you want to marry me, but I won't marry him yet."

Cheng Zhen laughed out loud, and her and Luo Tian's hands quietly came together under the table. He Pingwei shook his head: "It's a pity that today is not a day..."

"How do you say this?" Xie Ming saw that He Pingwei had something to say and deliberately matched his topic.

"Because I'm not fully prepared, but I can't control my heart anymore. What should I do?" He Pingwei deliberately pretended to be distressed. His hand had already been put into his pocket, and he was caught by the sharp-eyed Luo.

Tian could see clearly, and Luo Tian coughed clearly: "There is something in the world that cannot be covered no matter what."

"What is it?" Cheng Zhen asked seriously.

Luo Tian glanced at He Pingwei: "Love!"

When everyone suddenly realized, He Pingwei also sighed: "Yes, love cannot be blocked, so I don't plan to block it anymore."

He Pingwei stood up from his seat, suddenly squatted down, and faced Chen Xiaoying: "Marry me!"

Chen Xiaoying was stunned and put her hands on her chest: "That's it?"

"Of course it's more than that." He Pingwei shook his head and took out the ring from his pocket: "Marry me."

It turned out that even the ring was ready. Chen Xiaoying was a little frightened: "You...when did you prepare it? I thought you did it on the spur of the moment."

"This isn't important, is it? Xiaoying, why don't you tell everyone your answer first?" Cheng Zhen said with a smile.

Chen Xiaoying blushed and nodded gently. Everyone applauded. Xie Ming said: "Today is really a good day. Now, good things come in pairs."

He Pingwei put on the ring for Chen Xiaoying. It was a coincidence today. He Pingwei was thinking about when to propose in the evening. Unexpectedly, Luo Tian and Cheng Zhen appeared, and good things came in pairs at this dinner.

It was a happy event, and everyone's mood was high, so the dinner time was extended. Everyone talked to each other, and there was laughter from time to time, and the atmosphere became more and more lively...

Suddenly, Luo Tian heard panicked footsteps coming from the corridor outside, and said strangely: "It's strange, why are all these waiters running?"

Next, there were not only footsteps, but also the chatter of many guests. Luo Tian and Cheng Zhen looked at each other, with a bad premonition. Xie Ming said: "It can't be a fire, how can I vaguely

Hear a siren?"

Luo Tian shook his head: "It shouldn't be this hotel, otherwise the alarm sound is very clear, and it should be nearby. Otherwise, should I go out and have a look?"

It happened that the dinner was almost over, Xie Ming said: "In that case, let's go down and have a look together, it's time to disperse."

Everyone rushed downstairs, only to find that the diners were standing at the door watching the excitement. Luo Tian grabbed a waiter: "What happened? Is there a fire somewhere?"

"No, the alarm system of the bank opposite went off. Didn't you know that the police were here?" The waiter was anxious to watch the excitement. After saying that, he immediately squeezed to the door. Luo Tian and Cheng Zhen looked at each other.

People felt a little trembling in their hearts and hurriedly squeezed towards the door. Luo Tian saw Director Han: "Oh no, Cheng Zhen, Director Han is here in person. It seems that the matter is a bit serious. Let's go over and take a look."

Ignoring greeting Xie Ming and the others, Luo Tian and Cheng Zhen rushed towards Director Han. Director Han was circling around anxiously, followed by the person in charge of the bank. As soon as Luo Tian walked over, Director Han was stunned: "What are you doing?

Arriving there so soon?”

"I'm eating right across the street with my colleagues from the auction company." Luo Tian suddenly understood. Director Han asked himself why he arrived so quickly. What did he mean? "What's wrong, Director Han, does it have anything to do with me?"

The person in charge of the bank knew Luo Tian. When the Luminous Cup was lost last time, no one in the bank knew Luo Tian. The person in charge said with a sad face: "The bank safe was stolen. This... Mr. Luo is also a party involved.

one."
