Chapter 2 I Regret

"Shen Yi, I regret it." Ye Wanwan suddenly spoke out, and then before Shen Yi could react, he repeated with difficulty: "Shen Yi, I regret it."

Tears welled up from her eyes. She tried hard to suppress her emotions, but her words still sounded like tears.

Shen Yi on the other side of the phone was startled. Hearing the uncontrollable choking sounds on the other side, his fingers holding the phone subconsciously tightened a bit.

Shen Yi's Adam's apple rolled, and he wanted to say something several times, but in the end he just sighed, and comforted him with a bit of exhaustion: "Wanwan, don't think nonsense."

"I will go back as soon as I finish the work here. You can wait for me at home, okay?"

Ye Wanwan let out a long sigh of relief, as if sighing out the breath that had been pent up in her heart for many years.

"Okay, the weather has been bad recently, you have to take good care of yourself."

"I'm tired and want to sleep."

"Then go to sleep, good night." Shen Yi said.

"Good night." After saying that, Ye Wanwan took the initiative to hang up the phone, let the phone fall on the edge of the pillow, and then closed her eyes.

Tears slipped from the corners of his eyes, dripped down his cheeks onto the pillow, and then turned into a shallow puddle.

Thunder roared outside the window, and Shen Yi always felt a little uneasy in his heart. Especially when he thought of Ye Wanwan, his heart beat rapidly.

It seemed like something big was about to happen.

Shen Yi stood silently for a while, then took his mobile phone and called the landline in the villa. He first asked about Ye Wanwan's situation and made sure that she was resting in the bedroom, then he breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he asked the servant to take good care of Ye Wanwan, and the servant agreed wholeheartedly, and no servant in the family dared to disobey him.

But after hanging up the phone, Shen Yi still couldn't calm down. There seemed to be a voice in his heart that kept telling him to go back quickly, go back quickly!

That thought was too strong for Shen Yi to ignore.

In the end, Shen Yi got up and left the guest room, knocking on the door of the secretary's guest room next door.

Assistant Chen quickly opened the door and asked, "Mr. Shen, what can I do?"

"Help me book the latest flight back to Beijing." Shen Yi looked serious and sounded slightly anxious.

Assistant Chen originally wanted to say that he would discuss cooperation with customers in the morning, but looking at Shen Yi's serious look, he didn't dare to say it and went to book the tickets honestly.

Shen Yi went back to his room to pack his luggage.

But Assistant Chen quickly came to Shen Yi's side again, holding his mobile phone and said awkwardly: "Mr. Shen, there is a heavy rain in Beijing tonight, and all flights have been stopped."

Hearing this, Shen Yi frowned.

However, there was only silence for a few seconds before Shen Yi said again: "The high-speed rail should not have been suspended yet. Let's book high-speed rail tickets."

Although Assistant Chen was very confused, he didn't understand why his boss was so anxious to go back suddenly. Did something happen to his wife?

But as a qualified assistant, this is not something he needs to care about. He only needs to do things according to the boss's instructions.

About twenty minutes later, Assistant Chen drove and took Shen Yi to the high-speed rail station.

The city they are in is not too far from Beijing, and the high-speed train only takes three hours.

Before the high-speed train entered Beijing, it had already begun to rain heavily outside. The further we went, the heavier the rain outside. Big drops of rainwater hit the windows, making a crackling sound, as if they were about to fall. The windows were smashed.
