Chapter 130 The Secret of the Basilisk

Probably because of Dumbledore's trip to Austria, tonight's banquet at the beginning of school unexpectedly featured many dishes with Germanic characteristics.

Bavarian sweet mustard white sausage has a spicy and sour taste; Viennese roast beef is cooked on the outside and tender on the inside; a large pot of Berliner sauerkraut stewed pork knuckle is even more creamy, sweet and fat.

There is also dessert after the meal... Black Forest Cherry Cake, with the sweetness of cream, the sourness and bitterness of cherries, mixed with the faint aroma of cherry wine, making people intoxicated.

They all tasted familiar. Dumbledore was very satisfied with the food, and the students also had a taste of it.

But most British students don’t like German food. While eating, they complain that the Germans have never tasted good food and are a food desert... They really have no self-awareness.

After the dinner, Rolf left the Hufflepuff team and went to the principal's office alone.

He wants to get back his "little cutie"...the basilisk. After not seeing him for a whole Christmas, he still misses that old thing.

However, after arriving at the office, Rolf saw Dumbledore sitting there drinking alone. When he saw the young man arriving, he invited him to taste the specialties he brought back...

German beer!

At that time, the army of the Roman Empire brought the brewing technology of ale, a bitter-sweet drink, back to Europe from the Mesopotamian plains.

The Germans living in Bavaria, Germany, improved it into beer brewing technology. Since then, beer that truly meets modern tastes has been truly born.

Therefore, the wine brewed in Bavaria, the hometown of beer, can only be described in one word...authentic!

When it came to drinking, the portraits of the principals on the wall stopped pretending to be asleep and started chatting non-stop.

"What Bavarian beer, it tastes terrible, far worse than witch wine!" Phineas Black said with disdain on his face:

"I once took Hogwarts students to a Japanese magic house to participate in the Potions Championship, and I was lucky enough to taste the miko's wine there."

Phineas recalled with a click of his tongue:

"A seventeen-year-old girl uses her cherry mouth to chew the cooked rice gently, stirs it with her pink tongue, then spits the rice into the bottle and seals it.

Then it was allowed to ferment naturally for a full 180 days, and it finally became Miko's wine."

As a loyal supporter of pure blood, Phineas did not forget to remind:

"Remember, you must choose a pure-blood witch, not a mixed-blood one, it doesn't taste like that!"

After hearing Phineas's description, the other principals angrily accused him of being disgusting.

"It's really disgusting!" Fusco, the old principal, rubbed his red nose and said angrily:

"Isn't it just mouthwatering wine? Or witch wine?! Can it be compared with the beer of Andes Abbey?

I drank it once back then. It was slightly bitter in the mouth, with a sweet aftertaste, and the aroma of wheat lingered on the tip of my tongue... like a nun wearing only black veil, standing in front of you, sexy yet dignified, vaguely adding a bit of charm...

…”

"Thank you for sharing, Fusco, that's enough." Dumbledore interrupted quickly.

Luo Fu twitched his lips. He didn't expect that these old principals all had special skills. It seemed that they all had a lot of fun when they were young.

Of course, the current principal was not a fuel-efficient person when he was young.

After the boy drank the beer in the cup, he gently placed it on the table and proactively asked:

"Professor Dumbledore, how is that basilisk?"

Dumbledore handed Rolf another glass of beer, then waved his wand to stir the fire in the fireplace.

"Rolf, that basilisk can't be returned to you just yet."

Luofu looked solemn and said: "Is there really something wrong with it?"

"Yes." Dumbledore nodded and said, "Have you noticed that it always calls itself 'us'?"

"I always thought it was because it had been locked in the secret room for too long and had some schizophrenia." Luofu frowned.

"I thought so at first, but after careful study, I discovered the clues." Dumbledore shook his head and said: "The reason why the basilisk calls itself us is actually because it has two souls in its body that are intertwined with each other.

"

Dumbledore waved his wand, and a delicate silver instrument flew to the desk in the distance. The old man tapped it gently with the tip of his wand.

The instrument immediately started running, making a rhythmic clanking sound, and wisps of light green smoke erupted from the small silver tube at the top, gathering and lingering in the air.

Luofu looked at Qingyan intently, his brows furrowed.

After a few seconds, a few wisps of light smoke turned into a steady stream of smoke, which became thicker and thicker, hovering in the air... and turned into a two-headed snake.

The two heads of the two-headed snake are of different colors, and one of them looks like a plant "grafted" on the basilisk's body.

"This is the soul of the basilisk. The two heads are obviously not one. One of them should be from a wizard."

Luo Fu was a little stunned. He said in disbelief: "Is that basilisk... a Horcrux?"

Hearing Rolf say the word "horcrux", Dumbledore didn't show any surprise on his face.

The boy had told him before that the basilisk tried to teach him Slytherin magic and tricked him into making Horcruxes in order to live forever.

It was also because of this that Dumbledore paid special attention to the basilisk, and even took it to Austria to find professionals to help him re-examine it.

"You are right." Dumbledore nodded slowly and said, "That basilisk is indeed a Horcrux."

Luo Fu suppressed the fear in his heart, narrowed his eyes, and asked: "Who could have made it?"

As far as he knew, the only people who had come into contact with the basilisk were Salazar Slytherin, Corvinus Gaunt and Voldemort.

Of course Voldemort is impossible.

As for Corvinus Gaunt, he has lived for more than two hundred years and is still alive. He noticed that Rolf had the aura of the basilisk on his body and wanted to trade him away... The probability is indeed very high.

If it were Salazar Slytherin's Horcrux, then the problem would be serious.

"The maker is very skilled. He is entangled with the soul of that basilisk. I don't know whose Horcrux it is yet." Dumbledore shook his head and said:

"Therefore, I placed the basilisk with an...old friend and asked him to help me take care of it and study it."

Rolf raised his eyebrows. Dumbledore went to Austria, and Nurmengard Prison was in Austria.

His "old friend" should be Grindelwald, right?

Speaking of which, Rolf still remembered that his grandfather Newt and Grindelwald were enemies, and they had some emotional entanglements because of "someone".

Dumbledore took Newt's grandson to see Grindelwald... making sure not to irritate the former Dark Lord and asking him to question him again:

"What is it that makes Albus Dumbledore like you so much?"

Just when Rolf was thinking wildly, Dumbledore sat on the chair with his hands crossed and asked:

"I received Nico's letter. Peter Pettigrew showed up?"

"Yes, Professor." Rolf nodded quickly. "Shirley and I speculated that Peter probably stole a time-turner from the Department of Mysteries."

Dumbledore looked calm and nodded: "I understand."

"Professor, you don't seem very worried?" Luofu asked doubtfully.

That's a time turner!

"Worried?" Dumbledore said with a mysterious smile: "Why should I worry about a dead man?

Don’t forget, you killed him at the Screaming Shack on Halloween night.”

"Peter must have seen the newspaper and knew about his death." Rolf frowned and said:

"Will he use the time turner to go back to Halloween night and prevent this from happening?"

"Rolf, Peter Pettigrew's death is already destined, just like the Chudley Cannons will be at the bottom of this year's league."

Dumbledore smiled and said:

"Whether he wants to save himself or not, this is something that cannot be stopped. Even if he wants to save himself, he may do it himself

Promote your own death."

Dumbledore raised his glass, drank it all in one gulp, and sighed:

"This is fate!"
