Chapter 299 Voldemort: Mrs. Dursley, you dont want your husband to get hurt, do you?
Walking in a deep and dark underground cave, a long marble road winds and stretches in front of the Dursley family.
This section of road seems to lead endlessly into the darkness in the distance. There is a votive candle every few meters, and the candlelight shines shadowily on the white marble floor.
In the flickering orange firelight, the Dursleys could see a large number of stone tombs scattered on both sides of the road.
On each stone tomb is a life-size statue of a wizard.
Those statues hold wands, fold their hands on their chests, lie flat on the stone pavilion, sleeping in death, as if they are floating from the tomb, clinging to the coffin lid, and seeming to be trying their best to break away from the shackles of death.
.
The candlelight continued to move forward, and the silhouette of the person stood up and was cast on the wall. The shadow became longer and longer, like the shadow cast by a dancing skeleton, and then gradually disappeared.
Looking at the graves, Petunia felt the hair on her neck stand up with fear. She swallowed and asked:
"Where is this? Aren't you going to take us to Hogwarts?"
The woman who was leading the way did not answer. Seeing this, Vernon reached out and grabbed her shoulder and said loudly:
"Hey, Penny is asking you something..."
But before his hand touched the woman's shoulder, it felt as if it was burned by fire. Vernon screamed in pain and immediately retracted.
The woman turned around and stared at Vernon with murderous eyes. She was about to teach this dirty Muggle a lesson when a cold voice came from not far away.
"Stop it, Bella...don't be rude to our guests."
"Yes, Master." Bella said immediately and respectfully.
"Guests from afar." The voice continued: "This is not Hogwarts, but the cemetery of the Black family. You are welcome to come."
"The cemetery?" Petunia said in a trembling voice: "Aren't you going to take us to Hogwarts to watch the Triwizard Tournament? Why are you here in the cemetery? Where is Harry? I want to see him!"
"Don't be nervous." The man whispered in a calm and hoarse voice: "You were called here for a reason."
"Who are you?" shouted Vernon. "Why did you trick us here?"
"Who am I?" the man hissed with laughter, "Bella, pick me up so our guests can see who I am."
"Yes, Master."
Bella left the road and walked towards the stone tomb. Only then did the Dursleys see a group of people standing in the darkness.
They all wore black robes and hoods and formed a circle.
After a while, the woman named Bella picked up a package from the crowd and walked over slowly.
As they got closer, the Dursleys saw clearly what was in the package:
It was a guy who looked like a curled-up baby. He had no hair and seemed to have scales on his body. His skin was dark and red, like injured tender meat.
His arms and legs were thin and soft, and his face - no living child had such a face - was a flat, snakelike face with gleaming red eyes.
Vernon turned pale and muttered something under his breath. Dudley screamed and ran over to hide behind Petunia, who was so frightened that she crouched behind Vernon.
Voldemort raised his thin arms and put his arms around Bella's neck. He stared at Petunia with his eyes and said:
"I would like to introduce to you that this is Lily Evans' biological sister - Harry Potter's aunt - Petunia Evans."
Upon hearing the names of Lily and Harry Potter, the Death Eaters in the circle became commotion.
Voldemort narrowed his red eyes, stared at Penny, and said hoarsely:
"You look nothing like your sister, but your green eyes are very similar... They are both so ugly and disgusting!"
"Master, I'll dig it out for you." Bella stuck out her tongue excitedly and licked her thick lips.
"No, she is still of great use to me." Voldemort said.
Bella pursed her lips in disappointment.
When Petunia heard Lily's name, she suddenly raised her head and stared at the ugly baby. She was still shaking, and she swallowed hard and said:
"You... know my sister?"
Voldemort smiled. You couldn't see how his lips opened, but you could hear a thin smile oozing from his throat, which made people's hair stand on end.
"How come you don't know me?"
"She managed to escape from me three times, but the fourth time she was not so lucky.
That night was Halloween, and I blocked her and her husband James Potter in the room. When I showed up, they both looked surprised and frightened."
"I used Avada Kedavra to kill them both. It was as easy as killing a cat or a dog."
Voldemort hissed with laughter, but his eyes suddenly turned cold and he said:
"Of course, I fell into her trap - the woman used her own death to leave an amulet for her son - and when I killed Harry Potter, Avada Kedavra bounced back onto me.
"
Voldemort showed a terrible smile, and his red eyes became hollow and cold.
"Because of your sister, I was stripped of my body. I am worse than a ghost, worse than the humblest wandering soul... What I am, I still don't know."
"But fortunately, I am still alive. At least one or two of the magics I experimented with have worked, allowing me to encounter the most deadly attacks without dying..."
This was the first time Petunia heard about her sister's death. She seemed to be about to faint. She fell to the ground and was stunned for a long time. Suddenly, she screamed and shouted to Voldemort like crazy:
"You murderer...you killed my sister...you killed her!"
Petunia wanted to rush towards Voldemort, but Vernon quickly grabbed her arm and dragged her back.
Vernon held the struggling Petunia tightly in his arms, and Petunia whimpered: "Vernon, he killed Lily——"
"I know...I know..." Vernon hugged his wife, his beetle-like eyes narrowed, staring at the group of hooded people with vigilance, and said roughly:
"Hey, you have a grudge against Lily and his wife, but we haven't had contact with their family for more than ten years, and the relationship is very bad.
The hatred between you two has nothing to do with us...let us go back, we will not seek revenge from you."
Vernon tried to keep his voice as calm as possible and lied:
"But we've been missing for too long, so that's not necessarily the case - we have an appointment with our neighbor Mrs. Figg for dinner tonight - she will definitely call the police when she sees we are not here, and you don't want to get into trouble, right?"
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly fell to the ground.
Petunia bent down in horror and saw that Vernon was shaking all over, his face was ashen, and his mouth was shut tightly.
"What did you do to my dad?" Dudley yelled.
But the next second, his mouth seemed to have been sewn shut by needles, and he could not open it. He fell to the ground, curled up, and twitched.
"What did you do to them both?" Petunia let out a horrified cry.
"As long as you agree to my request, nothing will happen to them." Voldemort said softly, his red eyes shining in the darkness.
"Mrs. Dursley, you don't want your husband and son to die here, do you?"
"What...what do you want from me?" Penny asked with a look of horror on her face.
"I want you..." Voldemort licked his lips and said hoarsely:
