23. Three battles

Ghoul lair, ghoul town, ghoul kingdom.

Humanity's division of ghoul forces is not accurate, and the gap in scale has also increased exponentially.

Based on the scale that Lu Li had glimpsed in his dream, the blood plague group should be somewhere between a lair and a small town: stronger than the lair and weaker than the small town.

After all, they were not very powerful in the east and were forced to migrate south.

But it is also relative to the east.

A lone wolf who has been driven out by a pack can still wreak havoc and kill among the sheep.

Moreover, the only reason why the blood plague group is inferior to the small town is its scale - because the cruel Midnight City cannot support too many civilians.

In any case, Lu Li and the four accompanying ghoul warriors represented the ghoul lair during their trip to the blood plague outpost.

It can be expected that if Lu Li fails, the best outcome for the ghoul warriors is to stay at the outpost.

Among the desolate and decaying ruins, four crawling ghoul warriors protected a short ghoul warlock who walked upright and carried a spine staff.

Lu Li thought the skull was useless, so he replaced it with a strong spine staff that was too heavy for the warlock's weak body.

As we approach the streets bordering the south and east, the characteristics of the ghoul group gradually appear on the roadside: skulls on sticks and scattered bits of plague-contaminated meat.

Blood Plague Outpost—a temporary lair consisting of a theater, a monastery, and a residential area. The low flesh and blood walls cannot hide the busy outline of the lair.

There are no ghoul civilians, only ghoul warriors carrying firewood and stones.

The approach of five ghouls attracted the attention of the outpost. A team of ghouls similar to Lu Li approached, leading Lu Li and them past the blood pool soaked in ghouls and into the flesh-covered Plague Monastery.

The statue in the auditorium was cut in half, and the nearly four-meter-tall ferocious ghoul leader sat on the half body of the statue. Facing Lu Li's arrival, it raised its bone whip.

Snap——

The sound of breaking through the air echoed with Lu Li's scream. It stirred up dust and tore the blood carpet under his feet.

"You are not blood and bones...who are you?"

A dull sound like the wheels of a heavily loaded carriage resounded in the Flesh Monastery.

"The new warlock."

Lu Li looked directly at the ghoul leader.

"Instead of blood and bones?"

"That's right."

"Coward...it is a disgrace to the tribe..."

The snake-like pale bone whip was slowly withdrawn from Lu Li's side, "I hope you are not."

"Take it down. Tell the soldiers that the arena is open!"

The strong ghoul warrior walked into the bloody monastery and put shackles on the defenseless ghoul warrior who looked like a civilian in size.

Lu Li was no exception. His spinal rod was taken away and he was imprisoned in a cramped cave where he could only curl up.

The shaking shadows and crawling sounds outside the skeletal fence indicate that ghouls are on guard.

Lu Li could escape at any time, but he just waited quietly and continued to strengthen his body silently.

The long darkness was broken by the "clack" sound from the fence.

Lu Li climbed out of the underground cage and followed the ghoul team through the empty outpost, gradually approaching the theater filled with chaotic howls and stench.

They opened a bone gate leading to the theater and let Lu Li in.

Lu Li crawled into the crudely dug hole, looked back at the re-closed bone fence door, and then walked towards the depths where the howling echoed.

Darkness briefly enveloped the body, and then was replaced by gradually clearer shouts and light.

Another bone fence door stands in front of you.

Lu Li walked to the fence gate and peeked out. The theater that had been transformed into a gladiatorial arena was filled with ghouls, and the huge figure of the ghoul leader was looming in the main seat.

It's like the human audience covered in ferocious and bloody skins is waiting for a battle between beasts.

In front of the weapons rack next to it, rusty swords, hammers, antlers...all the objects that could be used as weapons were placed on it, stained with dried blood.

Lu Li saw that his spine staff was also placed on the weapon rack.

Pick up the spine staff and put it aside temporarily, and continue to choose from the various weapon racks.

A thick iron rod that looked like a lamppost caught Lu Li's attention. The head of the dead man was like a decoration, embedded in the top of the iron rod, with hollow eye sockets facing Lu Li.

Lu Li picked it up, and his claws were just right to grasp it. It weighed about eighty pounds, but was too long. It was like a door panel for Lu Li, who was the size of a ghoul warlock.

Click——

At this time, the rope pulled the fence door up creakingly, and the noise from outside poured into the cave without any obstruction.

Lu Li stopped choosing and took off the head of the dead man, put one skull on an iron staff and stepped into the arena.

The rich blood mixed with the smell of decay hit his face. Lu Li raised his head and seemed to see an eye condensed with blood and plague looking down at this place.

This is a ceremony.

Sacrifice to please the Ghoul King with battle and blood.

Lu Li looked away before Void's quiet gaze noticed him.

The ghoul leader's rough roar echoed in the arena:

"Warlock, prove your courage to be independent three times!"

"To win, to gain honor. To die, to be devoured."

Looking around at the ghouls following the howling audience, Lu Li held the spinal staff.

He escaped Chrissy's prank game, but he didn't escape the ghoul clan's wrestling match.

Lu Li's gaze fell to the opposite side of the arena where gravel, bones, and blood-soaked soil were scattered. A ghoul warrior approaching the limit of its size slowly crawled out from the shadows, roaring and pounced on Lu Li.

It is right, the warlock is so weak that even a ghoul civilian can easily kill it. But as long as the distance is enough, a lair cannot kill a warlock.

But Lu Li is not a warlock.

Holding the 80-pound "staff", Lu Li raised it high into the air towards the ghoul warrior who was rushing towards him with the fishy wind, and smashed it down hard.

Bang——

The gorgeous flower of layers blooms.

First, the fragile skulls attached to the "staff" were scattered in all directions, and then the staff made contact with the skull without any hindrance. The hard skull deformed and sunk, and the "staff" squeezed and sunk into the skull, just like throwing a stone into it.

A rotten mire, with stinky bits of meat scattered everywhere.

The headless ghoul warrior fell, surrounded by radiating slime and rotten flesh.

Screams were heard in the arena announcing Lu Li's victory, and the ghouls cleaned up the arena - dragging the corpses out of the arena, and then a bloody fight began in the stands.

The second scene followed. Lu Li shook off the rotten flesh on the "staff" and looked at the rising second fence.

A warlock holding a bone staff stepped out, raised the bone staff and released a foul halo of plague.

Lu Li rushed towards the Warlock like a warrior, enduring the aura of the plague, ignoring his body that was constantly decaying and healing, and brandished his "staff" to hit the Warlock who was screaming incomprehensibly.

Compared to a warrior, a warlock's skull is softer. The filling is not loose flesh that festers. The weak and thin body is almost split open, and gelatinous snot-like mucus is splashed all over the walls and the spectators at the edges.

"Bloody Skull Crusher——"

Lu Li heard the audience screaming.

I regret not insisting on keeping Chris in the game. At least the Bloodline Family Alliance wouldn't have such a bad name.

The warlock's body was carried out of the arena, and the third gladiatorial game came.
