20. After the Mist

In the silent room, the only thing that can bring a sense of security is the three bright lights and the star-like light outside the window.

The office window faced the mountain and could not see the harbor. Lu Li had no way of knowing when the spreading darkness would arrive here. Time passed by, and at a certain moment, the light in the room suddenly flickered several times.

The three lights flickered at the same time, and before Lu Li could understand the reason, the room suddenly darkened at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The flames of the candlesticks and oil lamps remained unchanged, but they no longer emitted heat, and the lighting range began to shrink, getting smaller and smaller, barely maintaining an area of less than one meter.

The candlestick with the smallest flame went out quietly.

Darkness once again became the main theme of the room, and the air was filled with gloomy atmosphere.

Lu Li understood that the darkness had enveloped this place.

Picking up the oil lamp at hand, Lu Li approached the window.

Lu Li's calm face and eyes as dark as the night were reflected on the window.

The outside world is covered with a veil. If there is a substantial existence surging in the outside world, it is fog.

A strange mist enveloped the entire harbor and Belfast.

It seemed to make the light even dimmer, but because of the mysterious bells over the city, every house added brightness and was not swallowed up by darkness.

The hazy scenery of Belst Harbor was like stars, dim and twinkling. Occasionally, screams pierced the night sky and echoed, coming from nowhere.

Lu Li backed away a little, away from the window.

He had a vague feeling that there was something appearing in the mist on the street below.

Lu Li, who had been here for five days, was finally able to face the weirdness and weirdness of this world.

Lu Li secretly thought about whether he should cancel today's plan, but as soon as the idea came to his mind, the room suddenly became a little brighter.

Lu Li was slightly startled and looked away, focusing on the oil lamp. After staring for a few seconds, he realized that this was not an illusion. The flame regained its warmth and the light spread outward.

Looking out the window with understanding, the hazy fog disappeared, and the buildings stretching on the mountain became clear and bright.

It may have been less than a minute from when the black mist shrouded it to when it left. The mist strangely emerged from the deep sea, and then strangely dispersed, or rather went away.

Sixty seconds when the clock struck six times? Lu Li didn't know, and he couldn't think about it because new changes appeared in the gallery.

Ta-ta-ta-

The sound of sticky and wet footsteps came from the next room across the wall.

The sound insulation of the wooden walls is very poor, very poor. After a few seconds, the footsteps disappeared. I listened intently, one second, two seconds, three seconds...

Bang——

The loud bang of the door being kicked echoed throughout the corridor.

This office seemed to be shaking, and the source was right next door.

Ta-ta-ta-

The footsteps resumed, and Lu Li could even hear the unique muffled sound of wet bare feet stepping on the wooden floor.

Ta-ta-ta-

Sticky and wet footsteps extended from the next door to the corridor.

It is foreseeable that after more than ten seconds, the office door will burst open like all the rooms on this floor.

Rustling——

There was a small sound beside him, and Lu Li turned his head. The sculpture in the corner was still standing there, but he raised one arm and pointed at the cabinet on the wall.

The implication is obvious.

Speaking of which, after the fog emerged, the sculpture unexpectedly became quiet.

"No thank you."

Lu Li declined. It was not his style to hide until he was found.

And the ghost is already outside the door.

Ta-ta-ta-

Wet footsteps were very close to the door. Even if he didn't hold the handle of the gun, Lu Li could feel a certain cold atmosphere filling the door.

Suddenly, a coldness spread from my calves.

Lu Li lowered his head and saw a dark red fetus with its facial features not yet grown and its body connected to the umbilical cord tightly hugging his trouser leg.

The held foot was so cold that it lost consciousness.

It noticed that Lu Li had found it - it opened its mouth, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth, and was about to scream.

A palm stretched out faster than it, covering the mouth and pushing all sounds back into the throat.

clatter--

The footsteps outside the door suddenly disappeared.

Lu Li looked down at the fetus, and thought of something in a flash. He suddenly picked up the fetus and slid it to the window, opened the window, threw the fetus out, wiped the blood on his hands with a window towel, and finally closed the window.

A series of actions are completed in one go.

Bang!

The loud noise spread throughout the entire floor, and the door turned into an afterimage, being blown open by the wind and shaking.

A figure in a long white dress floated at the door, with long brown-red hair covering her face, and her malicious eyes flashed away.

A swollen intestine protruded from under the skirt between her legs and dragged on the ground.

A voice that caused the surrounding temperature to drop sharply sounded: "Have you... seen... my child..."

"I didn't see it." Lu Li's black eyes were unblinking, watching her calmly.

He moved the holster behind him and held the handle of the gun with one hand.

"Have you... seen... my child..." the female ghost repeated again.

"No." Lu Li said calmly and looked calm.

His eyes passed over her dress. This kind of white dress is not suitable for wearing at work, but ghosts always have some ghostly qualities, which is understandable.

"Have you... seen... my child..." the female ghost said hoarsely again.

Lu Li pursed his lips slightly and frowned slightly.

The envelope did not say that the ghost would ask the same question over and over like a repeater. In fact, it did not say that it would encounter a baby ghost.

Is the situation different from before...

"I saw it." Lu Li suddenly nodded and said, "Is your child so tall and big, with a dark red complexion and an umbilical cord?"

Lu Li described the baby ghost he had thrown out of the window. The red light in the female ghost's eyes grew stronger as Lu Li described it.

Lu Li pointed to his feet and kept calm: "Go out from the door, turn right and keep going forward. After walking two blocks, I saw your child appeared there not long ago."

Before this exorcism, Lu Li first wrote down the location of the nearby police station, just in case something unexpected happened.

The female ghost turned around in a daze, turning a blind eye to Lu Li who was sitting behind the table. She disappeared from the door and her wet footsteps moved away.

Hope she never comes back.

Lu Li exhaled softly, tilted his head slightly, and found that the sculpture was huddled in the corner of the wall, with its body facing inward, motionless.

He opened his mouth slightly to ask it something, but Lu Li suddenly turned his head to look out the door.

Disgusting malice and coldness spread into the office from outside the door, and a ghost girl wearing a cyan lace dress and hollow eyes appeared at the door.

Her lace dress was stained with blood, and the pungent smell of blood emanated from the dress.

There is no doubt that another one has arrived.

Lu Li held his breath and kept quiet. He hoped that this time, as the envelope said, this ghost would still be unable to see.

Lu Li's luck wouldn't be that bad.

perhaps.
