1. Return to Rose Town

Ande Town Harbor.

The locals are used to boasting about calling it the Port of Anderst, even though the port here does not qualify as "Sit" at all.

A steamship docked in a narrow harbor, and the only passenger walked down the harbor carrying a suitcase.

"There is an exorcist carriage waiting at the entrance of the town. You can go to Rose Town from there. We will continue to search for survivors along the coastline."

The first mate of the steamer put his palm on his right chest and answered respectfully.

The first mate had seen two silhouettes on the beach but only one remained after getting closer, so he knew that this man had magical and mysterious abilities.

"Maybe there are no survivors." Lu Li didn't think there were any living people in Shadow Swamp.

The first mate straightened up and said with a smile: "I have to try, what if I find a survivor like you?"

"Thanks."

Lu Li nodded his thanks and watched the first mate return to the deck.

The sound of the ship's whistle echoed in the distance, black smoke rose from the chimney, and the steamer sailed out of the harbor.

Looking back, Lu Li walked past the pier where only a few small sailboats and wooden boats were parked. Four black figures were waiting here.

These people wore black cloaks that covered their whole bodies, and wore ominous beak masks on their faces. The dark holes dug out for their eyes made it difficult to muster the courage to look directly.

Lu Li took out the investigator badge from his arms, walked towards his beak masked figures and stopped. Only one person approached: "Your Excellency, Investigator, we are the response personnel of the Exorcist Joint Organization, responsible for taking the survivors to Rose Town.

"

"We're going there too."

"you?"

"My assistant." Lu Li replied.

Hiding can only cover up trouble, but giving Anna a formal identity can avoid a lot of unnecessary trouble.

Anna then appeared, her breathing stagnant in the beak mask, and she said with respect: "Please come with me."

Three silhouettes stayed at the dock waiting for possible survivors. Lu Li followed the beak masked figure who was talking to them and walked towards the entrance of the town.

Under the gray clouds, no figure could be seen in the silent street.

The doors of the houses on both sides of the road are closed, and the windows are covered with curtains or sealed with wooden bars.

The smoke coming out of the chimney indicates that there are still people living in these houses and the residents have not been dispersed.

This is by no means a good scene.

Instead of being evacuated from the town, they hid in houses and awaited their fate. To some extent, this shows that the United Exorcists were no longer able to take care of the peripheral details.

A piece of floral curtain opened the corner of his clothes, and his big eyes with fear and curiosity peeked out, watching Lu Li and the figure with a bird's beak mask walking on the street in front of the house.

Lu Li locked eyes with the person behind the curtain until he passed there.

"What is the mask for?" Lu Li looked away.

Apart from the initial beak mask figure, this was the second time he saw it.

"The protective clothing produced by the joint organization can prevent the invasion of diseases and minor pollutants."

A large number of corpses usually indicates a possible outbreak of plague.

"Has there been any change in Shadow Town?" Lu Li asked.

"Yes, the Eye Beacon at the entrance to Shadow Town collapsed four hours ago. The Evil God's descendants fought with each other. In the end, the descendants of the Swamp Mother won. They dragged the corpse back to the swamp -" The relaxed tone suddenly stopped, and the receptionist

Thinking of a certain possibility, he asked excitedly: "...is...you did it?!"

"almost."

The receptionist bowed respectfully and said: "Your reputation will be known to everyone in Allen Peninsula."

Ande Town is slightly smaller than Shadow Town, and they quickly arrived at the entrance of the town, next to a mound.

The carriage was waiting here, and the driver who was on his way looked at the two of them with restraint and respect.

The response staff handed Lu Li a simple medical bag: "It contains bandages, alcohol and wipes."

"That's enough, thank you." After receiving the simple medical bag, Lu Li stepped onto the carriage.

"You're welcome."

Under the gaze of the figure with the beak mask, the carriage turned around and drove along the dirt road towards Rose Town.

Anna placed the suitcase containing Sequence 1 in the far corner of the carriage. Lu Li opened his shirt and untied the gauze one after another, revealing the wound on his abdomen.

The wound was covered with dried mud. Lu Li opened the medical bag, took out some water, poured it on a clean towel, and wiped the area around the wound.

The bumpy carriage made him touch the wound from time to time, and he frowned. Anna frowned and said to the outside of the carriage: "Be more steady."

"Uh...ok...Miss."

A hesitant reply came from the carriage outside the carriage.

After wiping the mud around the wound, Lu Li checked the reopened wound. There was no redness, swelling or pus, and there was no infection.

After receiving the alcohol disinfection handed over by Anna, Lu Li unfolded the gauze and was held down by a white and illusory palm.

"I'll do it."

Anna was already able to be intimate with Lu Li very calmly - at least on the surface.

After wrapping the gauze, Anna cut the gauze with her fingertips and buttoned up Lu Li's shirt.

"Get some rest, it's still a long way from Rose Town." Anna said as she put away the medical bag.

"Um."

Lu Li drank some water, sat on the side of the carriage, and fell asleep quickly.

In the slightly bumpy car, Anna looked at Lu Li's profile quietly. She leaned forward slightly and stretched out her hand to touch Lu Li.

Okay---

The sanity counter that sounded accelerating brought Anna back to consciousness.

She retracted her palms and her figure gradually faded away.

"We are almost to Rose Town." Anna's voice sounded next to her ears.

Lu Li slowly opened his eyes, rubbed his brows and sat upright.

Pushing open the carriage window, the outline of Rose Town is revealed in the cool breeze.

The noisy and lively streets of Rose Town are like a market. The evacuated residents around Shadow Town are arranged here. Hired workers carry luggage and goods back and forth, and police officers and night watchmen from the joint organization are also maintaining law and order.

The carriage coming from Ande Town stopped at the entrance, and alliance personnel went to report it. After waiting briefly, Lu Li saw Tesla's figure appearing in the town.

"Why are you here?" Lu Li asked.

"Come with me." Tesla said to Lu Li, looking at the void next to Lu Li with a smile. "Such a big thing happened on the Allen Peninsula, there is no reason for me not to ask about it."

The lively streets dissipated some of the sense of depression. Tesla led the way, asking as if inquiring and confirming: "Does the end of the Shadow Town incident have something to do with you?"

"Absolutely." Lu Li's answer remained unchanged. "It's a long story. I'll tell you when the businessman comes over."

"Okay, let's go directly when the merchant is on the steam train." Tesla nodded.

"Train?" Lu Li repeated in a low voice.

"Yeah, train."

Tesla, who was standing at the intersection, stopped and motioned for Lu Li to take a look.

At the end of the road, a steam train with thick smoke coming from its chimney stopped at the platform where travelers looked.

A truck passed by the intersection at this time, and the two figures sitting on the truck blocked Lu Li's sight.

With a casual glance, Qiaoqiao, who was hugging her knees alone on the trolley and listening to Fran's chatter, saw Lu Li at the intersection not far away. He showed a bright smile, stood up and waved in this direction.
