21. Farewell to the Lennon Islands

Lu Li did not leave the Avitannis immediately.

He found the first mate of the cruise ship, a man with a hooked nose and thin hair, and described the appearance of the crew members who sent him two letters.

The first mate told Lu Li that there were no crew members on the ship as he described. He thought someone was pretending to be a crew member and was going to tell the captain about it.

This has nothing to do with Lu Li. He has already left the Avitannis and set foot on Belfast again.

The port garage rented back the carriage and drove Anna and their luggage out of Rodster Port.

"Is your letter from Daisy?" Anna asked, wanting to know the reason why Lu Li canceled the trip when he was about to leave.

Lu Li did not answer, but took out the letter and handed it to Anna.

"The world's pursuit of peace is sinking here, but they don't know that life is born in blood and darkness... The lost sheep are looking for a peaceful resting place, but they don't know that the darkest time has arrived... The terrifying dark clouds envelope the world,

The flame called civilization is gradually extinguished..."

Anna read out the contents of the letter in a low voice. The first half was more realistic, but had nothing to do with Lu Li.

[Stars descend on the farmland, unspeakable things are ready to move, evil things crawl out of the abyss, and the whispers of the void become clearer]

[The flame will be extinguished and the light will be extinguished]

[The existence that sleeps in the deep sea is about to awaken, cursing those who steal the flesh and blood of the unspeakable thing. The tentacles in the clouds guide it, and the sea water is its incarnation]

[But the flame is extinguished, but the embers remain]

[The earth protects the cursed]

[Stay on land, this is the only way for the cursed to survive]

The content ends here.

"I thought it was still from Daisy, but our choices were different..." Anna folded the letter and handed it to Lu Li along with the letter she received. "The person who sent the letter is reminding you not to set foot in the sea?"

Lu Li opened Daisy's letter and found out the content.

The writer asks Anna for help in the voice of Daisy. "Her" mentor turned into a monster and killed many people, and now the monster is chasing "her".

"It's more like he doesn't want me to leave here." Lu Li answered Anna while silently reading the letter.

The former may be well-intentioned, but the latter is not.

"Is it related to the letters sent to me?" Anna asked. Both letters were sent by a non-existent crew member.

Lu Li raised his head and pulled the reins to avoid the slowly moving truck in front of him: "They are made by the same person."

"He didn't want me to leave, and he didn't want me to know the purpose, so he sent a letter in Daisy's voice to lure us off the ship. But he guessed wrong, so he could only continue to block it and send the second letter at the risk of being exposed."

"Who wants you to stay?"

Who knows about his existence and about the bloody tentacles?

The range was reduced to the minimum, and Anna made a guess: "Is it Tesla...or Richard?"

And most importantly: whether the contents of the letter are true.

Lu Li once went to sea to investigate Disc Reef. In that experience, he did not encounter "an existence that sleeps in the deep sea" - but he did almost die in the sea.

"Maybe we shouldn't disembark so quickly." Lu Li said, "If we wait a little longer, the being behind us will appear for the third time."

"The gaze in the dark is hard to detect, and it's normal to not expect it." Anna replied. "What should we do next?"

"Play a play."

The street in front was surrounded by police officers, and there were still night watchmen. Walking around the block in front, Lu Li continued: "Let's leave Allen Peninsula by land."

The swamp road leading to the Main Familiar Continent.

If the being behind it doesn't want Lu Li to leave, he will appear again.

"But before that, let's go verify Daisy's affairs."

After a moment, Anna's hesitant hum came from the carriage.

Lu Li did not intend to investigate in person. Although Oliver and Qiaoqiao, who were able to accept the entrustment, had left, he still had another candidate.

Returning to the much empty detective agency, Lu Li picked up the phone and turned the dial, then fell into a silent wait for the transfer.

Anna lit the oil lamp, and the dim yellow light filled the deserted and empty living room.

Familiar voices and speaking speeds in a noisy background.

"I'm Lu Li."

"Of course, of course, besides the damn telephone operator, the only person who can call me is you - I mean, do you have a problem with me?"

"The weird incident at Bellard Conservatory of Music. A tutor became a monster and hunted down his students. I need to know the authenticity of this incident, and the situation of a female student named Daisy."

"Uh... you should know that our relationship is about me entrusting you to deal with it, not you entrusting me, right..."

Lu Li said calmly: "Double the commission fee."

"I'll tell you the news within thirty minutes!"

Before hanging up, Marcus mysteriously whispered to Lu Li on the other side of the phone: "Let me tell you a secret... this world is going to end!"

"Then what."

"Uh... it sounds like you already knew? You are an exorcist, haha... I plan to save enough money and find a place to hide in a while. Where are you going? Are you still staying in Belfast?

"

Eyes slightly lowered, Lu Li replied: "Lord, I will leave Belfast after you tell me the news later."

"Oh, what a pity. The Main Familiar Continent is not within my business scope...Okay, I'll handle your commission. Don't forget to double the fee!"

After hanging up the phone, Lu Li called the investigator base again. The alliance personnel who answered the call told Lu Li that Tesla still had not gone to the base and there was no message left for him.

Putting the phone back, Lu Li sat behind the desk and waited for the phone to ring.

"Are we still going to the Lennon Islands?"

The silence flowing in the detective agency was broken softly by Anna.

"It's best to stay here until the bloody tentacles are dealt with."

Lu Li could not prove the authenticity of the content of the letter, nor could he prove the falsehood of the content of the letter. Before the truth was revealed, rashly sailing into the deep sea was a gamble with his own life as a bet.

Fortunately, Lu Li didn't have to wait too long.

After Marcus brings the news, he will set off to the swamp road to lure out the existence that is secretly blocking him.

The sky started to get dark, the alarm clock taken out of the suitcase pointed to 5:20 pm, and the ring rang at the seventeenth minute when the phone was hung up.

"I struggled to find out the result. Just like you said, there was a tutor at the Conservatory of Music who turned into a monster and then hunted down the students. Now the place has been taken over by your exorcist organization for investigation."

"And the girl named Daisy you mentioned... I don't know who she is, but don't be too sad after hearing what I say next. She was found dead yesterday."

Lu Li raised his eyes to look at Anna, who also heard the news. Her scarlet pupils flickered for a moment and then stabilized.

"How will I reward you?"

"Put it under the bricks next to the second blue bin in Whistle Street, which you just passed by on your way out of Belfast."

"Um."
