9. No one knows

"Mother?"

Lu Li noticed the name she called Professor Chris.

"It's just that students don't dare to secretly give you the wrong potion."

Professor Chris suddenly approached Lu Li, bringing with it a sense of oppression but also a certain charm. Her white palms caressed Lu Li's shoulders, as if they were touching her but not as if they were not.

When he took it back, he held a black beetle in his hand and threw it into the pot under Lu Li's gaze.

Professor Chris leaned back in his seat, feeling faint with blood flowing from his chest.

"And you actually used the potion without throwing it away!" Claire burst out with unimaginable passion and said to Lu Li like an oath: "No one in Giant Tree Academy can hurt you from now on. You are my friend, Claire."

"No one would dare to bully the exorcist." Professor Chris was helpless at her daughter's excitement and explained to Lu Li: "She wasn't like this before, but after several experiences... you will know how valuable trust is when you are in senior year.

"

"Any other questions? Potion time is almost over."

Professor Chris stretched her body gently, and a soft moan escaped from her red lips.

"I want to learn the knowledge of cursed titles in advance." Lu Li ignored the ambiguity of the lazy belt and exposed more of his body.

"What did Hagrid tell you?"

"Releasing a cursed title is like building a house. Direct contact is equivalent to skipping all the steps and directly building the roof."

"That's pretty much it."

Professor Chris opened the suitcase next to the chair, took out a toad and threw it into the hanging pot. In an instant, the toad jumped out of the boiling pot liquid, jumped into the corner of the room and disappeared.

"But if the temperature is not so hot..." Professor Chris didn't care about its escape. She placed her palm on the hot pot and the boiling liquid suddenly gradually calmed down.

She took out another toad and threw it into the hanging pot. It no longer ran away like the first one, but was soaked in slime that was real and attractive to it.

Until the flames licking the bottom of the hanging pot brought warmth, the toad, which was unable to swim, sank into the pot of suspicious liquid, and boiling bubbles emerged.

“Increase tolerance?”

"Tolerance? That's pretty much what it means."

Professor Chris thought this word was appropriate and stared at him with her narrow eyes: "You look much weaker than the last time I saw you. Do you need help?"

"Need not."

This is just because Lu Li didn't bring the Doomsday Apocalypse Book with him.

Before leaving, Lu Li had another question: he wanted Professor Chris to show his power against weirdness.

Claire wanted to demonstrate but was stopped by her mother.

"You'll see it, but not now."

Lu Li left his seat and walked out of the office.

"Wait a minute, you won't just...go out, will you?" Claire suddenly reminded.

Professor Chris, who was lazily leaning on his seat, looked at Lu Li's silhouette, covered his mouth and chuckled: "Maybe our Mr. Lu Li likes this? Don't forget that he didn't wear anything when he came here."

"Daughter, why don't you give him your underpants?"

"It's too big for Lu Li."

Claire replied, asking Lu Li to wait, and walked into the inner room to find a pair of neutral linen shorts.

"I gave you my childhood clothes."

Lu Li did not refuse Claire's strange gift. He avoided the eyes of the mother and daughter and put on some well-fitting shorts to say goodbye to them.

Approaching the door, Lu Li noticed that the door was larger than expected. Unrelatedly, he remembered something.

"I noticed a difference between the three grades... did you do this intentionally?"

"Honey, I knew you would find out."

Regarding this point, Professor Chris did not skimp on her knowledge.

The environment in the lower grades is the best. No pressure, no conspiracy, no weird intrusions. The middle grades are a little worse, but not bad. You can choose safety or danger. The upper grades... they start to border the surface.

As for the lower colleges, there is almost no difference from the outside world.

"What's the meaning?" Lu Li asked.

"We want people to know: what we are protecting and what we are fighting for." Professor Chris sat up straight like a little giant.

"Enjoy the rare peace in life..."

Lu Li's back disappeared behind the closed door, and Professor Chris leaned back on her seat again, murmuring.

"It won't be long..."

The surface of the ice-free port of Wiener is calm.

All crises are present underground.

When the primitive darkness spread from the unknown land, only three-fifths of the citizens took refuge underground.

The subsequent plague, hunger, cold, weirdness, and other crises caused the population to drop by one-fifth...

In half a month, hundreds of thousands of people died in the cold, hunger and darkness.

The only thing that can be called "not so bad news" is that the citizens have not been overwhelmed, still maintaining order and maintaining hope.

Due to the lack of underground information, it was difficult for them to know what was happening outside their area. They did not know whether the citizens on the other side of the thick rock wall were also leaning against the wall, or were digging for the strangeness of the rock wall.

The material resources of Midnight City are constantly being sent to Midnight City through merchants. Even so, it only prevents the big ship from disintegrating in the strong wind and rain in Weiner Freeze Port.

This bad situation will continue until the underground refuge area maintains a stable number of people.

Presumably that number won't be too much.

People are dying every moment, and people are escaping every moment.

Those who escaped set out on a journey to find the legendary land of light.

How can I help people?

After receiving Mateus' letter, Lu Li thought of summoning the merchant Anthony and asking him to bring the news to Andrea: to open a route from Belfast to the ice-free port of Vina.

Fortunately, Mount Sugard, now known as the Land of Light, is large enough that even though many weirdos still live there, the Church of the Twisted and Vine can still occupy the land around Agate Lake.

Because of the weirdness, it maintains a certain kind of awe...the awe of the gods who still have power.

Then Lu Li thought about the curse of the "door" and came up with a guess that made him breathless.

Anna knows "the door".

She has never seen or heard the curse of the "door", but she has the memory of Lu Li's encounter.

Is this because of the special relationship between Lu Li and her, or because she was selected by the "Sect" to be the next host after Lu Li?

"sorry……"

A whispered apology sounded, but it wasn't Anna's voice.

Lu Li broke away from his thoughts, and the bustling sound of the auditorium filled his ears again.

Lu Li tilted his head, and Fudote, who was always proud, stood aside with her head lowered: "I shouldn't let the eyeworm follow you..."

Because of the side effects of the alienation medicine, Lu Li did not speak for the past two days, and this indifference only appeared after Lu Li left Professor Chris's office.

"Maybe something happened." Some kind of affair about Lu Li, Professor Chris and his daughter spread in Jushu Academy, and the content was not good for Lu Li.

Just like Professor Chris said, Lu Li's every move will be noticed.

But Fudote only thought it was Lu Li who discovered the eyeworm left on him.
