18. Inexplicable

Even if we had a car ride, it was almost dark when we arrived at Duoduo Town, and I didn’t know how long it would take to ride the donkey.

The map given by Fatty was too far off, and burning it was indeed the most correct choice.

There were no more road robbers on the way. The driver only stopped three times to add coal to the steam engine. Rolle also took the opportunity to feed the little donkey.

I didn’t see many cars along the way, and the entire road was quite deserted, making the journey seem unpretentious.

And boring.

Rolle went to the train station first and inquired about it. He learned that the train to Newlyn only left today, and the next one would have to wait until three days later. It was considered the worst case scenario, and it would be another three days late.

I saw my daughter.

"Why is it so slow?"

He couldn't help but ask.

"One of the railway lines is broken and it only runs in one direction. The road is not safe and may be attacked by monsters."

one conductor replied.

"Things are bad over there?"

Rohr asked a little worriedly.

"That's hard to say, it's just not very stable. As you know, monsters are always cunning and difficult to deal with..."

"Don't worry, didn't the newspaper say that? The empire has mobilized three eighth-level powerhouses to guard Newlin, and among them is the shining star swordswoman. With her here, the situation in Newlin will soon improve.

."

The conductor said very optimistically.

Shining Star Swordswoman? This title is really middle-class, maybe she’s not like a Mary Sue?

Luo Er complained in his mind, and then imagined the other person's image. He probably had colorful hair, could change with his mood, and was surrounded by a lot of licking dogs.

After thanking the conductor, Rolle found a nearby small hotel to stay, ordered dinner for himself and the little donkey, and huddled in a corner alone, silently listening to the chats of other guests.

"I had a fight with someone just yesterday. I fought for 75 minutes and ran 30 kilometers at the end. After all, people's physical constitutions are different and we cannot generalize."

"Ha, in fact, it's best to deal with that kind of strong man. Wait for him to rush over, use your strength to throw him on his back, and make him fall head-first to the ground and twist his neck until he is unconscious."

"There won't be anyone who can't beat a bear, right? No way, right? Is this all you can do?"

The man was blowing when a wine bottle flew from a distance and hit his head. He fainted on the spot.

The guest next to him stepped on him and spat on him, then threw him into the sewer outside the hotel.

Luo Er looked at his right hand with an embarrassed look, wondering why he threw the bottle out?

I haven't even finished the wine, it's a waste.

He finished dinner calmly, slipped out of the tavern, and started walking around the town.

Duoduo Town is much larger than York Town. It is basically the size of a city and is quite prosperous. Even at night, there is a very lively night market.

Rolle strolled around the night market and tasted a few local snacks, which were very delicious.

In particular, there is a local specialty called cotton fruit. After peeling off the outer skin, it reveals a cotton-like pulp inside. After being heated and paired with salty and spicy seasonings, it actually tastes a bit like something from the earth.

Tofu brain.

Luo Er almost burst into tears after eating. He never thought that he could recall the taste of his hometown in such a special way in a different world.

And it's still an orthodox salty taste, not those sweet heretics.

After shopping around, he also bought a small gift for Kelly.

A gray and fluffy hammerhead shark doll with a snow-white belly. It looks fat and short-limbed, and it looks cute and naive.

I feel ashamed to say that I have raised my daughter so big that I haven’t even bought her a toy...

But I did make a lot of them for her, like yellow-skinned mice carved out of wood, garlic bastards, and so on.

Although the conditions were poor, he still tried hard to give his daughter a happy childhood.

Luo Er walked around for three hours before returning to the hotel. He went directly to the bar and asked the boss:

"Is the public security in this town bad?"

"How is that possible? Our town, Duoduo, is famous for its tranquility, peace, and hospitality."

The boss replied rather displeasedly, and looked at Rolle with a look that looked like a country bumpkin.

"Is that so? Maybe it's my bad luck..."

Rohr didn't discuss it further with him and went straight back to the room.

Before, he just wandered around the night market and the surrounding area, and he got into three fights with three different groups of people, all for inexplicable reasons.

For example, when passing by a private house, I happen to encounter a couple arguing. It seems that the wife is saying that the husband is having an affair.

Luo Er happened to pass by the man, and was grabbed by the wife and cursed:

"Is this the wild man you raised outside?"

The amount of information was a bit large, and Rohr didn’t react immediately.

When he came to his senses, the neighbors around him were already carrying kitchen knives and rushed over with righteous indignation, intending to chop him into pieces.

Rolle had no choice but to try to persuade everyone and let them calm down.

These people wailed and rolled on the ground for a long time, and they probably calmed down. The bruised and swollen wife was the first to get up and apologize to Rohr.

"I'm very sorry, it was too dark, I recognized the wrong person..."

With that said, he handed Rolle two banknotes to express his apology, and then went to find the doctor.

Roll continued to wander around, and happened to bump into a group of loan sharks collecting debts. They surrounded him inexplicably and forced him to pay back the money.

Rolle had no choice but to reason with them.

The loan shark came to his senses and realized that he had admitted the wrong person, so he quickly lost some money to him, and then limped off to find a doctor.

The last time was even more outrageous. A little girl pointed at the hammerhead shark puppet in his arms and cried loudly, saying that the puppet belonged to her and that Rolle was a shameful thief.

The outraged father immediately found a group of people to chase him.

Of course, in the end, I was persuaded by Rohr, apologized, paid compensation, and saw a doctor.

Once, twice, it can be said to be accidental, but this inexplicable thing happened three times in succession, and it was all for such a nonsensical reason. No matter how you look at it, something is wrong.

"Some weird curse?"

Luo Er murmured in a low voice and looked at the small stack of banknotes in his hand.

You actually made a profit?

But he couldn't be happy at all, because the curse meant that it involved extraordinary events.

He is just an ordinary villager, what can he do to fight against the extraordinary?

Fortunately, although this curse will cause trouble for him, the threat is not too great.

"The key point is that I haven't offended anyone, so why am I being cursed?"

"Are they those car gangsters and road bullies? It doesn't look like it...if they have this ability, I'm the one who should run away."

Luo Er thought about it himself and couldn't think of a reason.

He is not an extraordinary person and very lacks knowledge in this area.

"I'll go see a doctor tomorrow too."

"I hope everyone is okay..."
