Chapter 222 Lying is a bad sign

The situation on Will's side has not been disclosed to Victor for the time being, and the latter focused on investigating the person who attacked him.

The mysterious female demon hunter disappeared without a trace after the assassination. Even the Inspection Bureau could not find any trace of her.

Victor once made a prediction about this, and the prediction basically revealed that the opponent had escaped from Renekton.

As for whether there was an instigator behind it, the Inspection Bureau also secretly sent people to investigate those people at the banquet.

The latter found out about Jason's beating of Alger, so he immediately gave up his newly obtained place in the local chamber of commerce and ran away directly to Ghana.

As a result of this matter, Alger's relationship with Minx Energy deteriorated, and I heard that he was planning to hire someone to go to Ghana to capture Jason.

In short, these two people were at each other's throats, and it was obvious to all passers-by that they didn't look like they would secretly hire a demon hunter to assassinate Will.

As for the last person who had secretly threatened Will, that is, Mr. Arusi Bumpers, his whereabouts were basically exposed to the sight of the Inspection Bureau.

This person is a supporter of the Progressive Party and has basically been stoned.

It is common to get involved in the political field and play dirty tricks. The detectives found that he has often formed gangs recently, met and communicated with various figures, encouraged them to support the Progressive Party currently running for election, and also bribed government officials.

In short, this Arushi is not a good person at first glance, but the things he did that violated the law are within the behavioral framework of the political party. Even if he wants to be investigated, evidence must be produced to convict him of bribing officials, rather than using evil

Power kills.

Next to Henry's desk, Victor scanned the investigative information. He always felt that Arushi's actions were too transparent. No matter how many seemingly secret activities he did, they were all exposed to the Inspection Bureau, which seemed too simple.

"Did you find anything new about Mr. Dilio Konova's case?" Victor put down the notes in his hand and asked Henry.

Henry played with a delicate pen and handed the thing he was filling out to Victor.

"Regarding Dilio's situation, contact the police station for investigation and sorting, all here."

Victor glanced at it, simply skipping what he already knew, and then discovered one thing, that is, Dilio was not the founder of his "little cotton ball clothing company".

The person who made the Konova family prosperous was his brother, the veteran named Bilbo Konova.

This information can actually be seen in Bilbo's suicide note, but Victor will not show that he already knew it.

"Ten years ago, Bilbo Konova returned to Renekton to do business. It took him less than a year to create the Little Cotton Ball clothing brand. At that time, Dilio was just his brother's assistant." Henry

He rubbed his palms and said.

Victor pretended to be slightly surprised: "It's a waste to let our business genius join the army. How did he accumulate the first pot of gold?"

"I couldn't find it, but unfortunately, this guy got seriously ill and died. He neither got married nor left any children. Dilio inherited everything and became a rich man in an instant." Henry shrugged.

The Golden Tarot Cards and the suicide note were both left by Bilbo to Dilio, so does this have anything to do with his sudden wealth?

"Oh, by the way, we recently got new information that Dilio may be a Progressive Party member." Henry added.

Victor recalled that Mr. Dilio was a member of the Huimin Chamber of Commerce. He had attended the birthday party of Mr. Robert, a member of the Progressive Party, and sat with Arusi.

Now that Arushi is confirmed to be a member of the Progressive Party, maybe Dilio is indeed one.

"This result is quite expected, but why are we finding out the other party's political leanings now? Did his wife provide it?" Victor asked sensitively.

Henry frowned: "That's not true. Our investigators got it out of the mouths of different Progressives."

Victor held his chin and thought. He always felt a little weird, but he couldn't explain why.

"Also, since we are talking about Dilio's wife, she may have been a little restless recently." Henry shook his head helplessly, and continued under Victor's puzzled gaze, "She doesn't know where she got the news, and she knows that we are here

Traces of invisible magic were found at the scene of her husband's death, so she assumed that her husband committed suicide and kept harassing the police station, asking them to open a case for investigation."

"Then is it confirmed that it was homicide?" Victor stared into Henry's eyes.

As a result, Henry's answer was the same as that of the police officer.

"Confirming the existence of the Invisible Art does not prove the murder. It is also possible that Dilio himself is a hidden seer. Why don't your Defense and Suppression Department check his body?"

This possibility is possible, but it is very low, otherwise Mr. Minister would have informed Victor of the situation early in the morning.

And according to Victor's observation of Dilio, he thinks that guy is not a seer.

"Anyway, we did take over the case. Compared to the police station, the lady didn't dare to come to the Police Bureau to make trouble, but she seemed to have hired someone to secretly inquire about the situation inside the bureau."

Hire someone to spy secretly? It’s not De Gaulle again, is it?

As soon as Victor remembered that person, Henry confirmed Victor's guess.

"Yes, that's the detective you're thinking of, the detective named De Gaulle Chaclo. I think you should keep an eye on him. Sometimes being too conscientious can get you into big trouble."

When the two came out of the station after chatting, it was already past four in the afternoon. Victor rushed back to Incense Mansion to see if Will had returned home safely.

But it's a pity that the other party seemed to have something to do and didn't come back.

Ms. Permis was too lazy to talk about Victor. She gradually got used to the days when she was the only one working. When Victor was willing to help her, he could go there. If he was not willing, forget it.

"Thank you for your hard work, Miss Permis."

"It's not hard... life is hard..."

The other party's cold reply choked Victor.

Victor smiled awkwardly, thinking that when Will came back, he would let him hire two more people as soon as possible.

Dinner was warming in the kitchen, and Permis and Victor waited for Will to come home.

He promised to come back before nightfall, and sure enough, he arrived at the door of his house just as the sun was setting, covered in dust.

As soon as he entered the door, Will was attracted by the smell of meat and quickly asked Permis to bring it to his meal.

He has become more and more natural at home, and he really regards himself as a real master.

Victor, as usual, had dinner with Miss Permis at the servants' table after they had finished their work.

When everything was done and Will finished washing and getting ready to go to bed, Victor called him to the study.

Will didn't report a word to Victor tonight, which made the latter directly see that he was hiding something in his heart.

"Tell me, you didn't go to the brewery at all, right?"

The first sentence revealed Will's lie, which made him suddenly panic, but soon the guy calmed down and apologized to the boss.

"I'm sorry... I'm actually afraid that you will take my safety into consideration and not let me meet unfamiliar people."

"Who did you meet that you didn't know well?"

"His name is Eurygus Grant, and he is from the East-West Railway Company of China..."
