Chapter 40 Famous Generals of Sui and Tang Dynasties

[Ding Dong, the first person to summon, the famous general in the late Sui Dynasty, Yang Yichen, commander in chief: 95;]

Yang Yichen, a famous general in the Sui Dynasty, was originally the son of Wei Chichong, the general of Yitong in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. He was cautious and loyal, good at riding and shooting, and was deeply favored by Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty Yang Jian. Therefore, he was given the surname Yang, was granted the title of Duke of Taixing County, and became the governor of Shaanxi Province.
In the 19th year of Kaihuang's reign (599), the Turkic Datou Khan invaded the frontier fortress. Yang Yichen, as the marching commander, led a total of 30,000 infantry and cavalry.

When he came out of Baidao, he met the Turkic army. The two sides fought at the same place. Yang Yichen defeated the Turks and was named the governor of Shuozhou for his merits.

After Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty came to the throne, Yang Yichen put down Yang Liang's rebellion, moved to Xiangzhou to be the governor, and moved to Zongzhengqing and Taipuqing. Later, he followed the army to destroy Tuyuhun, conquered Liaodong, attacked Goryeo, and made many military exploits.

After the chaos at the end of the Sui Dynasty, Yang Yichen led his army to defeat Zhang Jincheng, destroyed Gao Shida, joined Douzihang, captured Ge Qian, and became one of the main generals in suppressing the peasant uprising.

Dou Jiande, the rebel king at the end of the Sui Dynasty, once praised Yang Yichen: "After observing the Sui generals, those who are good at using troops are the only ones who are righteous."

And Yang Yichen's ability is worthy of this evaluation.

[Ding dong, summon the second person, the famous general of the Tang Dynasty, Pei Xingjian, commander in chief: 98;]

"The system is so powerful this time. The second candidate is actually the third-generation military god of the Tang Dynasty, Pei Yuanjian!" Wang Yu exclaimed in his heart.

People in later generations often say that the strong Han Dynasty prospered!

This is because the Han and Tang Dynasties produced the most famous generals.

Take the Tang Dynasty for example!

Li Jing, the military god of a generation!

The second generation military god Su Dingfang!

The third-generation military god is the second candidate Pei Xingjian. It is worth mentioning that his master is the second-generation military god Su Dingfang.

Pei Xingjian's status in history is not only that of a famous general, but also an excellent military strategist, politician, and calligrapher. He can be said to be proficient in both literature, Taoism, and military strategy!

Throughout Pei Xingjian's life, he did not have a good life as a boy.

Because his father Pei Renji and his elder brother Pei Xingyan joined forces with Yuwen Rutong and others to assassinate Wang Shichong because Wang Shichong had regicide and proclaimed himself emperor, but in the end the plot was revealed and he was killed.

Pei Xingjian also became an orphan!

However, because Qin Qiong and others once served as Pei Renji's subordinates, they were grateful for his father's kindness in knowing him, so they took more care of Pei Xingjian.

When he was a boy, Pei Xingjian was appointed as a Hongwensheng by Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, based on the merits of his ancestors. Later, during the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, he was selected in the Ming Dynasty Classics examination and was awarded the title of Professor Su Dingfang in military thaumaturgy.

After that, Pei Xingjian successively served as a military officer in Zuotun Weicang, Chief of the Governor's Office of Xizhou, and Protector of Anxi.

When he was in the Western Regions, most countries admired Pei's frugality and joined him.

Later, Pei Xingjian returned to the court and served as the minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. He was in charge of selection affairs together with Li Jingxuan and Ma Zai for more than ten years. He was very famous. He created the calendar list of long names and surnames and the annotations, which influenced the system of selecting talents and appointing officials in later generations.

.

In the third year of Shangyuan (676), Pei Xingjian served as the commander-in-chief of the second left army in Taozhou and the commander-in-chief of the right army in Qinzhou, participating in the defense of Tibet.

In the first year of Tiaolu (679), Pei Xingjian planned to capture the ten surnamed Khans of the rebellious Western Turks and the Ashinadu branch, and was promoted to the position of Minister of Rites and General of the Right Guards of the School for his merit, holding both civil and military positions.

The following year, the Eastern Turks Ashina Dewenfu and Ashina Funian were defeated, and the remaining Eastern Turks were pacified.

In the first year of Yongchun (682), Pei Xingjian died of illness at the age of sixty-four. He was given the posthumous title "Xian" as a gift to the Governor of Yangzhou, Taiwei.

Looking at Pei Xingjian's life, it can be said that he has truly reached the state of general and general.

Although the system currently only reveals his commander-in-chief, according to Wang Yu's estimation, his political attributes are definitely silver level, and his intellectual attributes are at least starting from bronze!

What's more, what's even more amazing about Pei Xingjian is that he is proficient in the lunar calendar and is good at identifying talents. The famous generals he promoted include Cheng Wuting, Wang Fangyi, Li Duozuo, Hei Chi Changzhi, etc.

Wang Yu would certainly not miss such a talent.

Maybe, after summoning him into the world, he can bring Pei Yuanqing and others out. Wang Yu has also admired this third hero in the romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties for a long time.

[Ding dong, summon the third person, the famous founding general of the Northern Song Dynasty, Shi Shouxin, commander in chief: 93;]

Although the Song Dynasty has been criticized by later generations for its strong trunk and weak branches, this does not mean that the Song Dynasty did not have available generals, especially during the founding period of the Northern Song Dynasty, there were so many famous generals!

Shi Shouxin is one of them!

However, compared with the two people above, Shi Shouxin's record is not impressive enough.

[Ding dong, summon the fourth person, the general of the early Ming Dynasty, Lu Zhongheng, commander in chief: 93;]

Lu Zhongheng was one of the twenty-four generals in Huaixi. He had little experience in military strategy. At the age of seventeen, he followed Zhu Yuanzhang and became a general under Zhu Yuanzhang. He then joined the army to capture Chuzhou, Heyang, and Daliushu villages, and drove them away.

Qingshan group of thieves.

He made contributions in the battles to conquer Chuzhou, Gushu, Jiankang, Jingkou, Changzhou, Xuanzhou, Jiangyin, Wuyue, Sanqu, Changshu, and Gaoyou, and then followed Zhu Yuanzhang to capture Nanchang, Hefei, and Anfeng.

In the process of annihilating Chen Youliang, he always took the lead and made great contributions, and was promoted to the commander of the Hussars.

After that, Lu Zhongheng made repeated military exploits, pacified Guangdong and Hunan one after another, and contributed to the establishment of the Ming Dynasty.

After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, Lu Zhongheng sat in Chengdu, quelled the barbarian rebellion, and contributed to the consolidation of the Ming Dynasty's rule.

It is a pity that when facing Zhu Yuanzhang, the beggar emperor, Lu Zhongheng failed to recognize his identity, so he got into trouble and eventually died.

[Ding dong, summon the fifth person, three arrows to fix Tianshan, Xue Rengui, commander: 101;]

The fifth one turned out to be Xue Rengui?

Wang Yu instantly cheered up.

I didn’t expect that a golden commander would appear in this random summons!

Moreover, because of Xue Rengui's terrifying record, Wang Yu was extremely sure that this was still a gold-level warrior. If he could summon him, he would really make a lot of money!

Xue Rengui was a famous general in the Northern Wei Dynasty and the sixth grandson of Xue Andu, King of Hedong. He was born in the south ancestral house of the Xue family in Hedong. However, due to the early death of his father Xue Gui, Xue Rengui's family fell into decline.

When he was young, Xue Rengui came from a poor family and had a humble status, so he could only make farming his career.

In the last years of Zhenguan, Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty personally campaigned in Liaodong to recruit brave generals. Xue Rengui then went to see the general Zhang Shigui to apply for the army, and since then he has joined the army and devoted himself to the army.

(Note: He is not the same person as Zhang Shigui in the novel. He is also a darkened character. He is still Xue Rengui’s benefactor.)

As for Xue Rengui, the battle that truly made him famous in the army was on the battlefield in Andi, Liaodong.

At that time, General Liu Junqiong was besieged by the Goryeo army and could not escape.

At this critical moment, Xue Rengui stepped forward single-handedly.

I saw him wearing a white robe, holding a halberd, a spear, and a bow and arrow at his waist. He took the lead in charging in the melee. He was so brave that he took the head of a Goryeo general and hung his head on his horse. The Goryeo army was frightened and hurriedly

Withdrew the troops and Liu Junqiong was also rescued.

After this battle, Xue Rengui became famous in the army and was honored as General White Robe.
