Chapter 25 Banquet

As the saying goes, there are people in the government who can do things easily.

Zhou Jun now fully understood the essence of this sentence.

Originally, it would take a month to get the Nu Ya Guan sticker, but Pang Gong casually reminded me that it was urgently made by the City Department today.

After handling the official deed and market certificates for Pang Gong's purchase of the maidservant, Zhou Dinghai stayed in the city office to handle some follow-up matters.

Zhou Jun walked out of the gate of Zhongshi and saw Jinfeng Niang and Po Ping hugging each other, crying sadly.

Pang Gong was not surprised at all, but Zhou Jun was a little panicked, always feeling that he had done something bad.

Po Ping's eyes were filled with tears and she whispered: "The night dew these days is very cold. I remember to mend some clothes, so as not to freeze myself."

Goldilocks shed tears non-stop and just nodded her head.

Po Ping let go of Golden Feng Niang, combed her hair with her hands, and said, "Yu Ping is gone."

Jin Fengniang watched Po Ping get on Mr. Pang's carriage, pulled Zhou Jun over, and threw herself into his arms, shedding tears.

Zhou Jun looked at the passers-by with a bit of embarrassment on his face. He could only pat Goldfeng Niang gently on the back and said, "Get in the car first, there are many people here."

Goldilocks nodded while sobbing.

The carriage moved forward slowly.

Zhou Jun was riding on the horse, and when he heard the crying in the car gradually subsided, he said, "Ping Po is with that Pang Gong, and they have resumed the music together. Feng Niang must be happy for her."

Golden Phoenix opened the curtain of the carriage and her eyes turned red: "Who said I'm unhappy? Mr. Pang treats Po Ping well, I know that."

Zhou Jun took a look inside the carriage and saw several large boxes filled with fine silks, piling the carriage to the brim.

Mr. Pang indeed treated Po Ping very well.

The two of them were talking and laughing like this, and in a blink of an eye they arrived at the door of Zhou Jun's house.

Zhou Jun was stunned when he saw two horses he had never seen before parked on the stables in front of his home.

Are there guests at home?

Jin Fengniang also saw the two horses. She originally wanted to invite Zhou Jun to her home for dinner, but now she knew it was not the right time, so she said goodbye first.

Zhou Jun led the horse into the house. Just as he was about to hand over the reins to the servant, he heard a shout from the hall: "Hengcai, you are finally back."

Zhou Jun turned around and looked, but it was his eldest brother Zhou Ze.

The latter walked out together with another young man.

The young man looked younger than Zhou Jun and had a lively temper. He said loudly: "Everyone is here, let's have a drink!"

Zhou Ze pointed to the yelling young man and introduced: "Hengcai, this is my good friend in private school, Luo Yingcai, named Jingxian, from his family..."

Luo Yingcai interrupted impatiently: "As for the introduction, let's talk about it while having a drink. I'm afraid Guanwen will have to wait impatiently!"

Zhou Ze was helpless, so he was pulled by Luo Yingcai, got on the horse, turned around and urged Zhou Jun again.

Hearing the word "Guan Wen", Zhou Jun thought of someone, calmly got on his horse and followed Zhou Ze and Luo Yingcai.

The three riders headed west and finally stopped at the entrance of a wine shop called "Akashiken".

After handing the horse over to the shop owner, Zhou Jun walked into the wine shop and followed the side passage to the private room inside.

Zhou Jun opened the curtain and saw Shao Chang, the magistrate of Chang'an County, sitting on the bed with a beautiful young woman pouring wine for him.

Shao Chang saw the three people coming in and said with a smile: "Come over and sit down."

Zhou Jun sang to Shao Chang: "Shao County Cheng."

Shao Chang nodded, and then said to the drinking prostitute next to him (the woman who is responsible for accompanying the wine in the wine shop, and occasionally sleeps with her): "Let the store bring the steamed food."

The drinking prostitute responded, got up and left the private room.

Shao Chang said to Zhou Jun: "I wanted to treat you to a drink earlier, but the county was a little busy some time ago, so I finally have time today."

Zhou Jun knew clearly that the so-called saying he was busy was probably an excuse.

If Jiang Yu's case has just ended and the county magistrate invites the defendant to have a drink, once word gets out, it will probably be bad for his reputation and it will definitely be inappropriate.

Therefore, Shao Chang deliberately delayed for some time, and then asked Luo Yingcai, a classmate of Zhou Ze, to help him make the connection, and then prepared this banquet.

Zhou Jun didn't say anything, but just said to Shao Chang: "Shao County Prime Minister has a heavy official duties, but he still remembers me. Heng Cai is deeply impressed."

Shao Chang glanced outside the door and said to himself: "There is someone else, I'm afraid he's still on the way, that's all, I won't wait."

After speaking, Shao Chang took out the wine that had been warmed. Zhou Jun quickly took the wine pot and poured wine for everyone.

Shao Chang raised his glass and said, "The banquet is about to begin. Let's drink this glass first."

Zhou Jun drank the wine in the cup in one gulp.

A few moments later, the prostitute came in carrying a lunch box filled with steamed food, and placed seven or eight side dishes on the table.

Seeing that the four people at the table had already started drinking, the drinking prostitute smiled and said: "What's the fun in drinking? How about taking advantage of the drinking order?"

Hearing this suggestion, Luo Yingcai clapped his hands and said with a smile: "Okay, this is interesting."

Shao Chang nodded and said: "I will do the legal recording (the person responsible for announcing orders and judging right and wrong during the drinking order)."

The drinking prostitute said: "That little girl is naturally the one who pours the wine during the drinking order and urges the losers to drink."

Zhou Ze looked at Zhou Jun with a hesitant look on his face.

Of course the latter knew what the elder brother was worried about.

Zhou Jun has never read any books, so he will probably make a fool of himself by doing this drinking business, which will definitely make him look bad.

Zhou Jun thought about it carefully. Although he liked history and studied poetry a little in his previous life, if he drank too much and accidentally said a famous line through the ages, he would surely have caused a big disaster.

If a dandy who hangs around, has no knowledge and skills, and cannot even read articles fluently, can recite wonderful verses while drinking, he will have great success in the short term, but in the long run, there will be endless consequences.

Copying a couple of lines of a poem can hide it with a poor excuse like a sudden enlightenment, but what happens next?

After your poetry becomes famous, you will definitely receive a large number of invitations to banquets and poetry gatherings.

At those banquets, there must have been various topics for poetry or writing.

There is only so much inventory in Zhou Jun's mind. Let's not talk about whether it can match the proposition. What if the inventory runs out?

Is it difficult to tell others that I have Alzheimer's disease and can no longer write poetry?

Thinking of this, Zhou Jun smiled and said: "The drinking order is certainly interesting, but it is also a bit regretful."

Luo Yingcai was stunned and asked: "Regret?"

Zhou Jun: "If the Prime Minister of Shao County does the legal recording in the drinking order, he must be responsible for announcing and passing orders. He cannot participate in the rewards and punishments, and the fun will be much less."

When Luo Yingcai heard this, he thought it made sense.

Once the drinking order started, only Zhou Jun, Zhou Ze and himself were drinking happily from beginning to end.

The county magistrate, Shao Chang, besides issuing orders, could only watch from the side without drinking a drop of wine, which was indeed a bit unethical.

Zhou Jun added: "On this wine table, there are more games to play than just drinking orders. I have a more interesting way to play, and all four of us can participate."

When Luo Yingcai heard that there was a new way to play, he quickly urged: "If Hengcai has any ideas, tell me quickly."

Zhou Jun: “This game of mine is called ‘Looking for Undercover’.”

Shao Chang was very interested when he heard the name, so he also asked: "This... how to find an undercover agent?"

Zhou Jun took out the charcoal and asked for a piece of paper from the store, and wrote the words "copper coins" and "silk" on the paper.

Then he said: "The rules are very simple. First, choose two words with similar meanings."

"Then, there are four of us here. One of them will get the word silk and the other three will get the word copper coins. The person who gets the silk will naturally become an undercover. Of course, we are not mutually exclusive with each other. Know the words the other person holds.”

"Then, the game begins. In each round, everyone must describe the word they hold. Homophones or original meanings cannot be used."

"At the end of the round, the four people voted for the person who looked most like an undercover agent."

"If you choose, the game ends and the undercover has a drink; if you choose wrongly, the selected person will have a drink and the game continues."

Luo Yingcai heard it was very interesting and couldn't wait to ask for the official start.

Shao Chang pondered for a moment and then asked: "Then who will write the lyrics?"

Zhou Jun looked at the prostitute beside him: "She can come out."

Seeing that there were no more problems with others, Zhou Jun said, "Let's get started."

After playing a few games, everyone gradually became familiar with the rules and said it was interesting. Even the drinking prostitute who accompanied the wine couldn't help but enjoy the game.

Less than half an hour later, as everyone was having fun and the voice was getting louder, a handsome young man in rich clothes opened the curtain, walked in and said, "I'm late."
