Chapter 389 Old paintings in Zhuanzhu Lane

As Mr. Wu said, there were really not many people on stage to look at the paintings this time. There were only a dozen or so people. It was like heaven and earth when looking at the first antiquities painting.

Maybe this is the negative effect brought by the word fake!

"These four paintings look really good, but unfortunately they are paintings from Zhuanzhu Lane."

"Don't you understand this? Qianlong and Jiaqing were very fond of the fine paintings from Zhuanzhu Lane in the Ming Dynasty, and even kept them in the imperial palace as treasure collections!"

"You don't understand what I mean. You and I are both antique dealers. If we buy paintings and don't collect them ourselves, why don't we have to find someone to sell them to others? Just imagine, our rich and wealthy customers will buy them back and hang them on the wall. Others

What kind of ancient painting did you buy here?

"How do you want these big customers to respond? If word gets out that I bought a fake painting, it won't make people laugh!"

"I agree with what Lao Zhang said. This kind of painting has artistic value and is old enough. But because it is a fake painting, it is tasteless and it is a pity to throw it away. If you buy it, you will not be able to buy it for less money. If you sell it, the price will be too high and you will not be able to sell it.

, so useless!"

"One more thing, these four paintings are considered as one lot. If you want to buy them, you have to buy them all. Although Lao Dong has not made a bid yet, the reserve price will definitely not be less than 3 million. It is not worth it, absolutely not worth it!"

"Oh, this is such an enlightenment. If you guys don't tell me that I really didn't think of this level, then why are we wasting our time here? Let's go back to our seats!"

Okay, four or five people left at once, and now there are only six people, including Shen Yu, left on the appreciation stage.

Shen Yu prefers to see fewer people. After all, one less person means one less competitor. However, what makes Shen Yu a little strange is that there is an ordinary-looking, pale-skinned boy with a crew cut who is also looking attentively at the display cabinet.

He has several paintings, and judging from his focused look, he is probably an expert in calligraphy and painting appraisal.

This person was about the same age as Shen Yu, probably a few years older. Maybe he felt someone was looking at him. The boy with a flat head suddenly raised his head, and the two of them nodded in a friendly manner as they looked at each other.

The four paintings in the showcase are all works by Huang Biaozhi, a pseudo-master of calligraphy and painting in the Ming Dynasty. They are imitated by the four artists of the Southern Song Dynasty.

Li Tang, Liu Songnian, Ma Yuan and Xia Gui each have one pair each.

All four paintings are dark in color, the paper is yellowed, and they have a full sense of staleness.

Each painting has the seal of "Treasure of Emperor Qianlong's Imperial View".

The remaining appreciation and collection stamps are each different in number and quantity.

The first one is called "Picture of Thatched Cottage in the Cold Forest" and is signed by Li Tang and written by Li Xigu.

Li Tang was already famous all over the world in the Northern Song Dynasty. He was ranked in the top ten among the painters with authentic works handed down from generation to generation. He was also the teacher of three of the remaining four masters of the Southern Song Dynasty, so Shen Yu decided to start looking at it from here.

The landscape part of this painting of "Cottage in the Cold Forest" is really good. The cold forest is bleak and the mountains are majestic. It seems to be a bit like Li Tang's vigorous, simple and powerful painting style.

The distant mountains and close rocks are also split using the big ax pioneered by Li Tang, giving the picture sharp edges and corners and a full three-dimensional feel.

However, the paintings of the characters drinking in the thatched cottage are average. Their faces are dull and dull, like clay puppets. At a glance, you can tell that the author is not very good at painting characters.

Generally speaking, this picture of thatched cottage does not have high collection value.

To put it bluntly, even if you buy it, you won’t be able to sell it for a good price.

Seeing this, Shen Yu secretly shook his head. This painting was definitely not written by Huang Biao himself, because Shen Yu had seen Huang Biao's original work before, and it was definitely a figure comparable to the four Ming dynasties.

At that time, some people believed that his painting skills were on par with those of the four Ming painters, and even in some places, such as copying the ancients, he was even better.

The so-called bustle in the world is all for benefit, and the hustle and bustle in the world is all for benefit.

Selling antique paintings was not a shameful thing at the time. Masters such as Tang Yin, Xu Wei, and Chen Hongshou all sold paintings when there was no rice to cook.

This is true for great painters who are famous all over the world. It is reasonable for those painters who are less famous to make some fakes.

That's what Huang Biao is.

Huang Biao, also known as Zhenquan, is also known as Wang Biao. His painting skills are so outstanding that it is difficult to distinguish the authenticity of the famous paintings copied from ancient people.

His most outstanding deed was the painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival", which deceived Yan Shifan, the son of Yan Song, a famous powerful official in the Ming Dynasty.

Yan Shifan is known as the number one genius of the Ming Dynasty. He particularly likes antiques, especially ancient calligraphy and paintings. He is also proficient in appreciation and is definitely not easy to fool.

Among them, Yan Shifan's favorite calligraphy and painting is "Along the River During Qingming Festival".

Even though there are numerous famous paintings in his family, Yan Shifan has been feeling unhappy because he did not get this authentic work by Zhang Zeduan.

There are different opinions on who was in possession of the authentic painting of Along the River During the Qingming Festival.

Some said it was in the palace, some said it was in the hands of a certain prince, some said it was in the hands of the descendants of former Prime Minister Wang Ao, some said it was in the hands of Li Dongyang's descendants, and some said it was treasured in Xiang Yuanbian's home.

There is also a theory that it was collected in the homes of Lu Wan and Gu Dingchen.

Although Mr. Yan Shifan and his father have great power, it is impossible for them to search someone's home.

Later, Yan Shifan heard that Wang Shizhen's father, Wang Yan, one of the important ministers of the Jiajing Dynasty, had a painting of "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" in his home, which was considered authentic by everyone at the time.

But in fact, this painting of Riverside is also a fake, a copy made by Huang Biao.

It’s just that Yan Shifan didn’t believe this and came to the door to ask for it.

Wang Yan didn't dare not give it, so he gave the painting to Yan Shifan.

But at that time, there was a well-known framer named Tang Chen, who secretly told Yan Shifan that the painting was a fake, and that the key to distinguishing the authenticity of the painting was the bird's foot on the two tiles.

When Yan Shifan saw that it was indeed the case, he began to hold a grudge against Wang Yan. He believed that Wang Yan used fakes to deceive him even though he had genuine works in his house. Yan Shifan clearly looked down on him, and finally found an opportunity to harm Wang Yan.

Why did the framer tell Yan Shifan? It was because he was the one who arranged Huang Biao's painting "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" for Wang Yan, so the framer wanted to get extra benefits from it, but the Wang family didn't give it, so he held a grudge.

Later, Wang Shizhen did not forget his father's hatred and wrote an ancient book under the pseudonym Lanling Xiaoxiaosheng. Then he soaked each page in poison and presented it to Yan Shifan. Yan Shifan twisted the pages in his hands and died from the poison after reading it.

Of course, most of these are legends, and there is no actual record of such a thing in official history.

But in history, Huang Biao existed, and he was friends with many celebrities at that time. Moreover, Huang Biao lived a long life and could still paint when he was nearly eighty years old.

Shaking his head and putting aside his distracting thoughts, Shen Yu continued to look at the painting.

The second painting is called "Returning on a Stormy Night". It depicts a winter evening scene. The weather is gloomy, the sun is setting, and there is no one in the wilderness. In the heavy snow, a group of caravans are marching slowly and arduously in the mountains against the wind and snow.

The signature is Liu Songnian.

The painting skills of this painting are completely opposite to the first one.

There is a tall tree in Zhangshan Mountain, and a human being in Cunma Dou.

The characters in this painting are well created, with vivid and lifelike expressions, and the expressions on their faces are rich and detailed.

But the wind, snow and mountain scenery are disappointing. The paintings are sparse and ordinary, without the energy and grandeur of calligraphy and painting.

The handling of the seasons is not good either. What you know is the snow scene, but those who don’t know really need to tell the difference. It is obviously snowing heavily tomorrow, but there is no white snow on the ground.

To take a step back, let alone the vastness, at least there must be some snow on the road.

At this moment, Shen Yu not only thought to himself: "There is really a lot of water in Mr. Dong's words. How can he say that everything he said was Huang Biao's authentic work? I have seen two paintings, but they are just ordinary Ming Dynasty imitations." It’s just a painting, even the ancient paintings handed down in Zhuanzhu Lane are third-rate works.”

What Shen Yu didn't expect was that the plain-looking man with a crew cut opposite him also sighed softly.

As if to express his dissatisfaction with the painting being too ordinary, he also murmured in a low voice, "It would be nice if the figures and landscapes in the two paintings were swapped. This way, each can get what they need. I can only think about it. It's a pity." , in fact, they are two paintings that are worthy of praise!"

Although the voice was as thin as a mosquito, Shen Yu heard it clearly, "Hey, this person is really not simple!"
