Thang Long, the capital of the Mo family in the Annan and Northern Dynasties in the past, now has not even an Annan person to see it.
Since the Tang Dynasty began to relocate the country in the Nanyang region, Annan and Northern Dynasties were the first to decide to relocate to the country with the Tang Dynasty. It was also because it was right next to the Tang Dynasty and there was a Guangning coal mine nearby.
It was also the first Southeast Asian country to be relocated by the Tang Dynasty.
In the thirty-sixth year, a large number of Mo Dynasty soldiers and civilians were transported to the new territories of Africa by the Tang Dynasty, and in the thirty-seventh year, hundreds of thousands more people were transported there one after another.
The Annan and Northern Dynasties, which is now the Kingdom of Nanyue, only had a total of more than 800,000 people.
In the thirty-eighth year of Xuanping, the last batch of officials and people from the South Vietnam Kingdom who stayed in Thang Long City boarded Tang ships and headed to Africa to start their new lives.
This also means that there is no longer anyone from the South Vietnamese Dynasty in Thang Long City or even the surrounding areas.
As soon as the South Vietnamese left, the Tang people came.
Because it is adjacent to Guangning County, the hometown of Datang, and Guangning County has a railway directly leading to Lianzhou, and Lianzhou has a railway connecting to Guangzhou, thus connecting to the Pearl River Delta railway network.
In other words, new immigrants from the Tang Dynasty can go directly to Guangning from the northern inland area by railway, and then enter the Thang Long area.
According to the relevant agreement between the Tang Dynasty and the Kingdom of Nanyue, the migration of the Kingdom of Nanyue and the immigration of the Tang Dynasty were from north to south, moving to one place and immigrating to another place.
As the first area to complete complete immigration, the Shenglong area also officially became the first area taken over by the Tang Dynasty.
On February 16, 1938, the garrison and officials sent by the Tang Dynasty officially took over Shenglong City and the surrounding area. At the same time, a large area in the northern part of the Mo Dynasty was designated as Jiaozhou, and Shenglong was called Songping.
During the Pre-Tang Dynasty, the Jiaozhou General Administration Office was established in the northern area of Annan. The state government was Songping County, which is now Shenglong. Today, the Tang Dynasty only restored the ancient names of these places.
However, the newly established Jiaozhou did not directly fall under the jurisdiction of the Guangdong Chief Envoys Division like Guangning County, but instead came under the jurisdiction of the Guangxi Chief Envoys Division.
This is mainly because over the years, many provinces have seen the advantages of having access to the sea, but Guangxi is blocked by Lianzhou and has no access to the sea.
The previous governors of Guangxi tried to incorporate Lianzhou, including Guangning, into Guangxi, but there was too much opposition, especially since Lianzhou Prefecture also had jurisdiction over Guangning County.
Guangning County is a major coal county. It is the only large-scale coal production base in the southern region of the Tang Empire. It is even the only high-quality anthracite production base in the empire itself. How could such an important place be let go so easily?
But now that Jiaozhou has been newly established, the upper echelons of the empire have made it clear that in order to better govern the local area and to better develop the local area, they have completely integrated the local area into the empire's mainland.
There will be no new provinces in the Dragon area and other places, but will be directly placed under the jurisdiction of adjacent local provinces.
After this battle, Guangxi successfully captured Jiaozhou, which became the only coastal area in Guangxi and the only outlet to the sea.
Therefore, the Guangxi Governor’s Yamen attaches great importance to the takeover and subsequent development of Jiaozhou.
Not only were they crying for financial and policy support from Jinling, but they also gritted their teeth and squeezed out money from local finances to prepare for the development of Jiaozhou.
As for the officials at all levels in Jiaozhou, except for the middle and high-level officials directly dispatched by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, other low-level officials were prepared by the local government. The governor of Guangxi also mobilized elite soldiers and generals from the entire province to prepare for a big fight.
The original Shenglong City is now located in Songping City, the capital of Jiaozhou. An Yonghui, the first magistrate of Jiaozhou, looked at the dilapidated Songping City and sighed: "There is a long way to go!"
Although this Songping City was the capital of the former Nanyue Kingdom, and the surrounding area was also the core and essence area of the Nanyue Kingdom, it was still unsightly in An Yonghui's opinion.
Let’s talk about Song Ping City. I don’t know how the Nanyue people built it in the past. They said it was a capital city. But looking at the scale of the building, it is at most the scale of a county town in a low-lying area of the mainland.
This is only talking about the size of the urban area that can accommodate the population.
But let’s talk about the specific buildings and various infrastructures.
At this time, one of his subordinates also came out and said: "Sir, it seems that we have to start a backup plan. This city is too small, and the South Vietnamese people in the past did not have an industrial and commercial mindset at all. The streets in this city are too narrow.
, many places cannot pass horse-drawn carriages, and the docks are also very unreasonable. We need to rebuild a river dock and then build a new city around the dock!"
An Yonghui said: "Now it seems that this is the only way it can be!"
Rebuilding new urban areas was also Datang's first choice in many places. One of the important reasons was that the original indigenous urban areas could not meet the needs of the Tang people.
The urban areas established by the indigenous people are generally small in area, and most of them focus only on military defense functions, but generally do not pay attention to other urban functions.
But for the people of Tang Dynasty, this was not possible.
Today's urban planning in Datang focuses on providing convenience for industry and commerce. When many of the original old urban areas are not suitable for development planning, the local government often chooses to build new cities elsewhere.
This is most evident in the Central Plains Province of Henan Province.
Previously, the political and economic center of Henan was in Kaifeng, but with the development of railways, it has been moved to Zhengzhou, and now the governor's office has also been moved directly here.
The same is true for North Anhui Road.
Previously, the administrative office of North Anhui Province was in Anqing, but later it was moved directly to Fengyang. The reason why it was moved here was not because it was the hometown of Zhu Yuanzhang in the former Ming Dynasty, but because there was a railway passing through it.
Today's Songping City will also be relocated to a certain extent, but it is not moved directly to other places, but a new city is rebuilt nearby and develops simultaneously with the old city.
When Datang established Jiaozhou and opened up the Red River's outlet to the sea, the Red River Railway plan, which had been brewing for many years, was officially launched.
Datang Railway Corporation will build a railway line from Jiaozhou to the west, and then all the way to Kunming, Yunnan. Once the railway is completed, the Yunnan area will be able to directly connect to Jiaozhou and the sea through the railway.
This is crucial for the development of provinces such as Yunnan and Guizhou in the southwest region of the Tang Dynasty.
