Chapter nine hundred and ninety-fifth Maitreya's decision
Maitreya smiled bitterly and said: "To be honest with the King of Qin, since the poor monk learned that Guanyin was missing, he has been in panic all day long. If he hadn't been forced to do so, how could he have written this secret letter to try to attract the attention of the Taoist palace?"
"The poor monk was relieved to see Zhuang Sheng and King Qin today. I wonder if Zhuang Sheng and King Qin have any countermeasures?"
Lin Ze sighed slightly and said: "Buddha is in the dark, and he was once a saint. His cultivation is unfathomable. You and I are far behind in the light. How can we have any good countermeasures?"
Maitreya looked gloomy: "Then what should we do?"
"But I do have a solution that is not a solution."
Lin Ze, who had just thrown Maitreya into the abyss, changed the subject and gave him a glimmer of hope.
Maitreya, who was in a bad situation, was naturally seduced by this glimmer of hope, bah, attracted.
"Please also ask King Qin to teach me."
Lin Ze said seriously: "Only a saint can deal with a saint. Although the Buddha lost his holy status, he possesses many miraculous methods. To you, he is no different from a saint."
"So I suggest that you come back to Chang'an with us. My senior brother is in charge of Chang'an City. The Buddha who has lost his holy throne must be jealous and dare not take action easily. What does Lord Maitreya think?"
Maitreya said with a bitter look on his face: "Although King Qin's plan is good, it can only solve a temporary problem. As the saying goes, you can only be a thief for a thousand days, but how can you prevent a thief for a thousand days? How should a poor monk deal with himself in the future?"
Lin Ze glanced at Maitreya, what are you thinking about the bicycle? You are being targeted by a stubborn old man like Buddha, and you want to get rid of it easily once and for all. Are you scared to death?
Of course Maitreya was not frightened, but it is human nature to push beyond the limits.
From Maitreya's point of view, since a secret letter can attract help from two powerful people in the Dao Palace, why not make higher demands? They have already asked for help anyway, right?
It would be great if the Taoist Palace could completely dethrone the Buddha from the holy position, and he, the future Buddha, would be considered justified.
Since ancient times, it has been rare for a prince to be a prince for fifty years, but he, the Buddhist "prince", has been a prince for tens of thousands of years.
On the contrary, even if the Taoist palace cannot solve it, there is nothing to lose by asking. Since they are here, it means that they attach great importance to this matter.
Wouldn't it be better if there was an unexpected surprise?
A hint of joking appeared on the corner of Lin Ze's mouth: "Chang'an is so big that there will be no shortage of places for Lord Maitreya to live. If the crisis is not resolved, Lord Buddha will continue to live there."
"I have a once-and-for-all solution, but I'm afraid Lord Maitreya won't be able to use it."
Maitreya's eyes lit up and he said cautiously: "Please give me some advice from King Qin."
Lin Ze sneered and said: "If Lord Maitreya can be promoted to the saint realm, not only will he not have to worry about the threat from the Buddha, but the Buddha should be worried that you will become his gravedigger."
When Maitreya heard this, his expression froze and he could not speak for a long time.
After a while, Lin Ze was already a little impatient: "Lord Buddha, have you thought about following us to Chang'an?"
Maitreya said with a bitter look on his face: "The poor monk is determined to carry forward the Zen tradition and has achieved great results. If he goes to Chang'an, all his previous achievements will be wasted. Can the King of Qin allow the poor monk to think more about it?"
"oh"
Lin Ze responded and said to Zhuang Zhou: "Senior brother, I suddenly remembered that I have something to deal with in the court. It is not appropriate to stay here for a long time. You and I should go back first."
"Lord Maitreya Buddha, think about it slowly and think it over carefully before making a decision. If you plan to take refuge in Chang'an, don't forget to inform us."
After Lin Ze said this, his sleeves fluttered and he rose up in the wind.
Seeing that Zhuang Zhou Linze was about to disappear in front of his eyes, Maitreya quickly said: "Zhuang Sheng, King Qin, wait a minute. I am willing to accompany you two to Chang'an, but I have an unkind request."
"There are more than 18,000 monks who have converted to Zen on Qiulong Mountain. I beg the King of Qin to take them all in. The poor monk is very grateful."
Lin Ze ignored it and flew faster, aiming for Chu Di.
Zhuang Zhou caught up with Lin Ze and asked: "Junior brother, didn't you plan to persuade Maitreya to live in Chang'an? Why did you suddenly change your mind?"
Lin Ze replied without thinking: "Senior brother, please keep in mind that we are helping him, not begging him. As a dying person, what qualifications does he have to put forward conditions? Could it be that the Dao Palace owes him?"
Zhuang Zhou scratched his head and said, "Senior brother, I think Maitreya may not really want to raise conditions. He is most likely testing the Taoist palace's attitude."
Lin Ze said indifferently: "So you gave him face, and he slapped his nose on his face? Senior brother, do you think junior brother will be the kind of person who spoils him?"
Zhuang Zhou looked at Lin Ze's profile, thought for a while and said, "Junior brother is a profit-seeking person. If there are enough benefits, it shouldn't be a problem to spoil him."
Lin Ze blushed, haha, senior brother understands me quite well.
Whether Maitreya is alive or dead is not important to Lin Ze. What is important is that it can bring corresponding benefits.
Seeing that Lin Ze didn't speak, Zhuang Zhou couldn't help but ask: "What do you think, junior brother?"
Lin Ze said calmly: "We will arrive at Yindu in Chudi in a while. Junior brother has received news that after Ksitigarbha rebelled against Buddhism, he established an underworld Taoist order in Yindu in Chudi to help people redeem the souls of the dead and gain followers."
"Fishing bait is not necessarily good if it is too much. The truth is only when you catch fish. Without Maitreya, there is Ksitigarbha. If the Buddha has a plan, Ksitigarbha can also hook him out."
In Lin Ze's opinion, since Maitreya is so ignorant, then he should change his goal. If Ksitigarbha is like Maitreya, waiting for a price before he dies, Lin Ze will be happier.
Maybe Lin Ze could use this reason to persuade Zhuang Zhou to get rid of Maitreya Ksitigarbha.
If Zhuang Yiyi had not agreed to do this at first, Maitreya would have disappeared from the world by now.
Compared with leaving Maitreya Ksitigarbha to set up his own branch, it diverts the luck of Buddhism, delays the restoration of the Buddha's holy throne, and prevents the Buddha from making a comeback.
It would be much simpler and more direct to hack Maitreya Ksitigarbha and others to death to destroy Buddha's plan.
The former is a mental job, while the latter is just a physical job.
The key point is that if the Buddha can still stir up trouble and trouble in his current state, it means that the strategy of diverting luck is of little use.
Lin Ze is a pragmatist who uses things that are useful and discards things that are useless.
Zhuang Zhou asked: "What should we do about Maitreya?"
Lin Ze said nonchalantly: "A fool who thinks he's smart enough to use his avatar to meet with you and my fellow seniors, if he refuses to go to Chang'an, then he should just wait to die."
Zhuang Zhou smiled and said, "What if he changes his mind and is willing to go to Chang'an?"
Lin Ze replied casually: "Then he is lucky."
This means that even if Maitreya is willing to go to Chang'an, he can still be accepted.
Zhuang Zhou smiled and did not continue talking. While the two were talking, they had already reached Yindu, which was thousands of miles away from Yuzhang.
…
At Qiulong Mountain, Maitreya looked at the direction where Lin Ze Zhuang Zhou disappeared, with a confused look on his face.
Why did you just leave? You came all the way to find me, and you gave up so easily?
So what should I do? Still here?
Maitreya looked at the monks and believers scattered throughout Qiulong Mountain, with a look of reluctance on his face.
The next moment, Maitreya ran towards Chang'an, leaving the green hills behind. He was not afraid of running out of firewood, and it was important to save his life.
