036 [Introspection]

Guizhou City, Song Gongzi's study room.

Song Ji went to Yunnan Province for the provincial examination last year. Not only did no accident happen, but he actually passed the examination!

As a result, Song Jian, Song Ji and his son had a fierce quarrel.

Mr. Song wanted to go out on a study tour and brought a lot of money to visit famous teachers to prepare for the Jinshi examination in the future.

Song Jian expressed strong opposition. Although he had several sons, only Song Ji was the eldest grandson and the only candidate qualified to compete for Guizhou's Xuan comfort envoy. He went out to study for several years, and he might die one day.

When the young master came back, the day lily was already cold.

As for taking the imperial examination?

Don't be ridiculous, that stuff is very difficult. Moreover, once you pass the exam and become an official, you will automatically give up your right to inherit the chieftainship.

As a result, Mr. Song, who passed the exam, not only did not receive a reward, but lost his freedom and was placed under house arrest by his father. He could only pass the time by reading every day.

"Brother Yuan, have you really met Mr. Yangming?" Mr. Song was very excited. Since he couldn't go to other provinces to study, it would be the same to find a famous teacher nearby to study.

"Young Master Song hurriedly sent people to look for me just to ask about this matter?" Wang Yuan asked strangely, "How do you know Mr. Yangming?"

Mr. Song smiled and said: "It's not just me, many scholars in Guizhou know it."

Since the last time he had a drink with Wang Yangming, Wang Yuan didn't visit him again for more than half a month. Because Xi Shu, the deputy envoy of Tixue, had come back and announced the date of the Taoist examination, he needed to stay at home and study the "Book of Rites" hard, and he was afraid that

Xi Tixue suddenly had a seizure and wanted to take the Five Classics test.

Who would have thought that in just half a month, Song Ji, who was confined at home, would actually hear about Wang Yangming's name.

The news must have spread too quickly.

Although the official road from Guizhou City to Longchangyi is much easier to walk than Zazuoyi, the round trip takes at least a day and a half! Wang Yuan came back at night last time.

Such speed of spread, if you think about it, is because Wang Yangming himself deliberately spread the news.

Longchang's enlightenment was not sudden.

After Wang Yangming spent twenty years of hard thinking and combined with his own experiences, he suddenly understood it in an instant.

After enlightenment, it is time to preach.

This kind of truth will definitely not be understood by the Miao Yi people, and it can only be passed on to the scholars in Guizhou.

Wang Yangming immediately sent people to Guizhou City to build momentum near Si School. To put it bluntly, it was to promote enrollment. He was not for fame and wealth, but just for preaching. Even poor children without a penny on their bodies could go to Longgang Mountain with dry food.

Free classes.

Wang Yuan and Mr. Song didn't exchange a word, and Shen Fucong was also led into the study by his servant.

Song Ji immediately stood up and asked: "Brother Shen, you and Mr. Yangming are from the same hometown. Do you know what his real knowledge is? Who is higher and who is lower than you?"

Mr. Shen obviously also heard the news about Wang Yangming. He smiled bitterly and said: "Wang Youan (Wang Yangming)'s father is the number one scholar. His family is well-educated. How can I compare with him? Although we are from the same hometown, Wang Youan lived in Beijing when he was young. He returned to

During the Zhejiang Provincial Examination, I had already gone to be the guest of honor for my benefactor, and I have never seen him again."

"That's it." Mr. Song was a little disappointed.

"But," Master Shen continued, "I have also heard of his name in Jiangnan. This gentleman called himself Yangmingzi. In the last years of Hongzhi, young scholars began to call him 'Mr. Yangming', which shows that his talent and learning are far beyond ordinary people."

."

The subtext of this sentence is that to be called a gentleman by Jiangnan scholars, it is impossible to hold him down without true talent and learning.

Song Gongzi asked Wang Yuan again: "What did you talk to Mr. Yangming that day?"

Wang Yuan recalled carefully and roughly recounted the conversation between the two parties.

"You," Master Shen shook his head and smiled bitterly, warning, "Don't always criticize Zhu Zi. You haven't even read "Zhu Zi Yu Lei"."

Wang Yuan asked: "What did I say wrong?"

Master Shen explained: "Your understanding of 'reason' is just picking up Zhu Zi's wisdom. Zhu Zi has already made it very clear. If there are principles you haven't understood yet, then just follow the principles you already understand. If you understand the principles, If you haven't done it yet, you should work hard to practice it. In Zhu Zi's view, knowledge and action promote each other, and there is no contradiction with what you said that day."

"How come I didn't see these words in the "Commentaries on the Four Books"?" Wang Yuan was a little confused.

"Of course I can't see it. It comes from "Zhu Xi Yu Lei" and is not something that must be mastered in the scientific examination." Master Shen shook his head repeatedly, "Do you think Zhu Xi is regarded as a sage just based on his annotations on the Four Books? That's ridiculous!"

Wang Yuan said: "Preserve the principles of nature and destroy human desires. This is always what Zhuzi said, right? I don't quite agree."

Master Shen said: "If you follow me and make the "Book of Rites" the basic scripture, you will soon learn the origin of this sentence."

"Preserving heaven's principles and destroying human desires actually comes from the Book of Rites?" Wang Yuan was greatly surprised.

Perhaps Mr. Shen was still reluctant to discuss other subjects, but he had already read through the Book of Rites and immediately corrected Wang Yuan's misunderstanding.

It turns out that Zhu Xi believes that all things have the same origin, and Tai Chi is the Tao, which is the law of heaven, and the laws and regulations. Tai Chi generates yin and yang, develops all things, and Qi transforms and flows into essence. People and things all have their own attributes. Human attributes include light and light. Dark, divided into clear and turbid.

In Zhu Xi's view, basic desires such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, eating, drinking, having sex, and loving women are all natural principles. The human desires he wanted to eliminate were extravagance, lust, greed for enjoyment, etc.

The true meaning of "preserve the principles of heaven and eliminate human desires" is: people should abide by the principles of the great road, get rid of darkness, turn towards the light, eliminate evil and retain good. Only by eliminating the evil in oneself can one get closer and closer to the saint.

The same is true for Buddhism and Taoism. Taoism kills three corpses and Buddhism removes three poisons, which has the same meaning as Confucianism's "preserving heaven's principles and destroying human desires".

Wang Yangming's "Towards Conscience" is also another version of "Preserving Heaven's Law and Destroying Human Desires", but the two are implemented in different ways.

Rulers and Taoists deliberately misinterpreted Zhu Xi's true meaning, and in the end they became more and more evil. Even the fairy novels of later generations were affected by this fallacy, thinking that killing three corpses to become a saint meant destroying all human desires.

"I understand, thank you sir for your teaching." Wang Yuan bowed his thanks very sincerely, and at the same time began to reflect on himself.

Master Shen warned: "My knowledge is limited and I cannot teach you too many profound principles. But I know that Zhu Zi is not something ordinary people can criticize, at least not what you can criticize now. If you want to refute Zhu Zi, you have to read all of Zhu Zi's works. Read it again, how many books have you read so far?"

Wang Yuan bowed again: "Students, please remember this."

Mr. Song listened at a loss and was confused. Although he was admitted to the Juren Examination, his knowledge was limited to "Annotations to the Four Books" and "The Righteousness of the Five Classics". He had no idea what the two men were talking about at the moment.

Well, I can actually understand it, but I can't understand it.

In Mr. Song's view, it is enough to read the sages' books carefully. Why are there so many doubts in his heart?

Wang Yuan suddenly woke up and wanted to slap himself a few times.

Because he learned the "Four Books" too quickly and had a sense of superiority as a time traveler, Wang Yuan was already a little blind and arrogant. He had only been exposed to the superficial aspects of Confucianism and felt that Confucianism was nothing more than that. He even disrespected Zhu Xi less and less, and I have expressed this emotion many times.

Fortunately, Wang Yuan was still young, so neither Wang Yangming nor Xi Shu cared about him.

Wang Yuan couldn't help but ask: "Sir, what is the true meaning of Zhu Xi?"

Master Shen thought about it carefully and said, "That makes sense."

This is not nonsense!

Wang Yuan was speechless for a moment and no longer had any expectations for Master Shen. He could only go to Wang Yangming to answer this kind of question.

In fact, Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism is objective idealism, while Wang Yangming's philosophy of mind is subjective idealism.

The fatal flaw of Neo-Confucianism is the separation of epistemology and methodology, coupled with the constant distortion and brainwashing by the rulers, which results in the ideological imprisonment of scholars.

Wang Yangming was confused by this separation. He could not use methodology to verify the theory of knowledge. He could only find another way to find the answer from his heart, jumping directly from objective idealism to subjective idealism.

Wang Yuan, a time traveler, must be materialistic.

While Wang Yuan was reflecting on himself, Song Gongzi asked Shen Fucong for advice on how to escape from home and go to Longgang Mountain to listen to lectures by famous teachers.

Master Shen would not get involved in this kind of thing and said perfunctorily: "Your Majesty is under strict guard. There is nothing we can think about at the moment. I will think about it slowly when I get home."

Mr. Song grabbed Master Shen's hands and said, "Brother Shen, please come up with a plan as soon as possible!"

"I must try my best." Master Shen was still fooling around.

After leaving the study, Shen Fucong breathed a sigh of relief and said to Wang Yuan: "In a few days, there will be a Taoist examination. You will have to do the eight-legged essay and take the Five Classics test."

Wang Yuan said depressedly: "I have only learned a few chapters of the Book of Rites, so it seems I can only fool around."

Master Shen smiled and said: "Don't be anxious. Xi Jintai also knows that it is not easy for children to be born in Guizhou, so whether it is the Four Books or the Five Classics, the questions this time are limited to the first chapter."

"That's okay," Wang Yuan also laughed, "Is this considered cheating and missing questions?"

"It doesn't count." Master Shen said firmly.

How strange!
