Chapter 1076: Your kiln has great equipment

The paper mallet bottle, also known as the straight-neck bottle, got its name because the shape of the bottle resembles a paper mallet. It was a kind of utensil favored by the rulers of the Song Dynasty.

The purpose of the paper mallet vase, in addition to simple decoration, should be that the Song Dynasty people "burned incense, served tea, hung pictures and arranged flowers" vases.

For the people of the Song Dynasty, while appreciating such an artifact, they might also be able to seek a deep attitude towards life and spiritual realm. This is the rational beauty unique to the Song Dynasty.

Paper mallet bottles were produced in Ru, Ding, Ge, Nanguan and other kilns in the Song Dynasty, as well as Longquan and Yaozhou kilns at the same time.

They have a common feature, that is, they have many plain surfaces and are famous for their shape and glaze color.

The quiet and restrained artistic style reflects the strong humanistic spirit and cultural atmosphere of Song Dynasty society.

As a standard of bottles and to add beauty to the living room, this bottle has always been used for display, and it has been passed down from the moment of its birth to this day.

The paper mallet bottle is also called a straight neck bottle because its shape is very similar to a paper mallet and its neck is relatively long.

Most of this kind of bottles are dish-mouthed. Its characteristics are that the mouth of the bottle is in the shape of a shallow plate, the bottle neck is long, the top of the neck is thin and the bottom is thick, the bottle shoulders are diagonally folded, the upper and lower diameters of the belly of the bottle are different, and the middle of the belly is slightly

Expansion.

It is similar in shape to the vase, jade pot and spring vase, except that the neck is very straight, so even if you have never done it before, it is not difficult to make it.

After doing a few things with Zhang Gu, Chen Wenzhe stopped doing them.

He has already made all the single-color glaze bottles from Ru, Ding, Ge, Nanguan and other kilns, as well as Longquan and Yaozhou kilns. Others are not classics and there is no need to imitate them.

"To say that it is complete, the number of Ru kiln porcelains on the stamps is actually the most. This is a ready-made design!"

The more he did it, the easier it became, and it can be said that Chen Wenzhe was out of control.

The mud he mixed this time was a bit too much, so it can't be wasted, right?

If you want to make something, make it a classic. Which piece of Ru kiln porcelain that can be printed on a stamp is not a classic?

In 2002, the State Post Bureau officially issued a set of stamps nationwide with the theme of Ru Kiln Porcelain - "Chinese Ceramics - Ru Kiln Porcelain".

This set of stamps uses the Northern Song Dynasty string-patterned three-legged statue, the Northern Song Dynasty three-legged washbasin, the Northern Song bowl and the Northern Song plate from the National Palace Museum in China as materials, demonstrating the unique charm of Ru kiln porcelain cultural relics.

If they were just imitations of ordinary utensils, such as bowls, plates, and so on, Chen Wenzhe really wouldn't bother imitating them.

However, he is really interested in imitating the treasures passed down from generation to generation on stamps.

The string-patterned three-legged statue is not common, but Chen Wenzhe knows of two handed down pieces.

One piece is collected in the Palace Museum in Shendu, and the other is collected in the British David Foundation.

This thing is porcelain used for palace furnishings. The three-legged statue with string pattern selected for the Ru porcelain stamp is the treasure of the Palace Museum in the divine capital. It is a rare large piece of Ru porcelain handed down from generation to generation.

When studying materials previously, Chen Wenzhe paid special attention to the production of large objects.

And we have also studied and figured out how to make large items of Ru kiln.

If it were more than ten or twenty years ago, he would not have dared to imitate Ru kiln's large wares, because even if he imitated them, he would not be recognized by the world.

But things are different now, because many facts have proven that Ru Kiln has large utensils, and the standard for large utensils is one foot!

Why are most of the Ru kilns made of small wares? Because it is more difficult to make large wares.

Why did it appear in history that there were no large utensils in Ru kiln and no large utensils in Chenghua, and both were widely spread, but is this correct?

This is not necessarily true, but speaking of the Ru kiln, we now feel that the largest size of the Ru kiln should be the three-legged dowry, which is so big.

So take Chenghua Porcelain as an example. Chenghua Porcelain was later found to have large jars, so where is the definition of small vessels?

Nowadays, when we say there are no big utensils, we generally mean that there are no such big utensils.

In many other dynasties, such large vessels existed.

There is no big weapon, it is based on a simple reason, that is, it cannot produce big tools.

At that time, Ru kiln was used as porcelain for the palace, especially for the emperor. It was actually a utensil used in daily life.

At that time, it had not yet risen to the level of display porcelain, and due to the firing conditions at that time, there was no large-scale firing of large utensils.

It's just that for a long time before, judging from the unearthed kiln site, a large number of residual utensils and no large items were unearthed.

Therefore, we descendants think that your kiln has no great tools!

However, there is a record in history that in the 21st year of Shaoxing, Emperor Gaozong went to inspect and ate during the inspection.

During the meal, an important minister paid tribute. This was a military minister named Zhang Jun. He paid tribute with such a list.

The list of Ru kiln is very clear. There are these things: a pair of wine bottles, a washing machine, an incense burner, a combination of incense, an incense ball, four lamps, two bowls, a pair of incense, a large dowry, and a small

One dowry.

There are many things on this, which are easier for us to understand.

Like a wine bottle or a dowry, everyone basically knows what it looks like.

For example, incense burners and lamps are relatively easy to understand.

The more difficult thing to understand here is the first one, which is called a pair of wine bottles.

Some people say that there is a pair of wine bottles. Is it difficult to understand?

If a wine bottle is not just for drinking, what else can a wine bottle be?

Today we cannot speculate on this Song Dynasty person’s concept of wine bottles at that time, especially Ru kiln wine bottles.

But we know that in the Song Dynasty, jade pots and spring bottles were used to make wine.

Chen Wenzhe had previously collected an early jade pot spring vase, and the porcelain was not even called that before.

The large-scale standardized firing of jade pots and spring bottles was only in the Yuan Dynasty, so if a pair of special wine bottles appeared in the Song Dynasty, it would be no problem if someone suspected that they were jade pots and spring bottles.

Theoretically speaking, the Yuhuchun bottle is very close to the common wine bottles we have today, especially beer bottles.

It has a thin neck to facilitate your grasp, and a big belly to facilitate capacity.

In the Song Dynasty, people did not drink distilled liquor or liquor.

I drink mostly rice wine and brewed wine, so this Yuhuchun bottle is more suitable for this amount.

Moreover, it is very convenient when pouring wine into Yuhu Chun Ping.

Therefore, some people speculate that this wine bottle from Ru kiln refers to the jade pot spring bottle.

As far as we know, there is probably only one in the world that has been handed down from generation to generation. The evidence is in the British Museum, where they preserve the jade pot Chunru kiln vase.

Therefore, in Zhang Jun's list at that time, the wine bottle should refer to the Yuhu Chun bottle.

Another type of wine vessel, plum bottle, is a wine storage vessel and is relatively large in size.

Speaking through this list, it is about this pair of wine bottles.

No matter how you interpret it, it should be a wine storage device, right?

As long as it is a wine vessel for storing rice wine, it should be large in size, right?

Therefore, even if it is not a jade pot and spring bottle, the large Ru kiln wares should have been fired in history.

Also, it has been said since ancient times that you are no bigger than a ruler, which means that your kiln does not have a large vessel.

However, if the size is defined by a foot, there is no need to argue, because now large Ru kiln vessels with a size exceeding one foot have been excavated.
