8. Horror Collision

A gleaming beacon illuminates this seemingly unfinished stone temple.

Steam overflowed from the underground world under the spiral stone steps. It was still unsafe here, and the gushing steam began to heat up the stone palace.

The light of the lighthouse becomes stronger and stronger, filling every corner of this space——

Only the pillars with carved patterns stand in the palace. It seems that it has never been completed, or there are only ruins left. It looks even larger like the city below.

He is still underground.

Lu Li had no time to study the origin of this palace. The lighthouse that dispelled the darkness was revealing the edge of the palace and the hole in the rock wall. Although the hole as high as a person was incompatible with the palace and seemed awkward, it seemed to be the only way out of here.

The steam was spreading and filling the air. Lu Li carried the lighthouse with weakened light and approached the hole to get away from the sweltering heat that made it difficult to breathe on the skin.

Lu Li entered the hole, but the end of the hole was two meters away.

Collapsed earth and rocks blocked the road to the depths.

A complete human skeleton wearing a gray one-piece suit leaned desperately against the mound. Next to its left hand bone was a broken iron pick, and next to the obviously broken right hand bone was a long-dried windshield.

Oil lamp.

It seems to be a joy to see the same kind of people here, even if it is just a corpse.

Because this means that Lu Li has come closer to the familiar human society from the underground where he doesn't know where he is.

And the bones are well preserved, which means it

The steam outside the hole was still spreading, and it was difficult to affect the place for the time being, but it wouldn't take long. Lu Li picked up the broken iron pick next to the corpse's hand, and suddenly found a pile of fist-sized dirt next to it.

It stood beside the corpse like a low tomb.

It seems to be a coincidence that the other four phalanges of the left hand are curled up, and only the index finger is straight, pointing vaguely at the raised mound of soil.

Lu Li looked away and smoothed the mound of earth with a pickaxe.

A notebook buried under the soil is revealed.

Were the bones buried there during life?

Lu Li had no time to pick up the notes for the moment, as the steam was approaching. He held the handle of the pickaxe and pounded it into the collapsed sand.

The hole began to get hot and stuffy. Lu Li could still hold on, but the way out appeared sooner than he imagined. After pulling out the iron pickaxe with one swing, a refreshing cool breeze with an earthy smell blew from the other end of the exposed gap.

Come in.

Lu Li swung his pickaxe to widen the gap, and the cold wind that poured in lowered the temperature of the hole, making it no longer unbearably stuffy.

After digging for a few more minutes, the collapsed earth and rock revealed a passage that could be drilled through.

Lu Li looked at the corpses on the side - he could leave here if he dug a little longer.

It seems even more despairing to have hope separated only by a wall. Fortunately, he doesn't know this.

Noticing the notebook again, Lu Li reached out and pulled it out of the pit.

"If there are your last words in it, I will try to complete it."

The surrounding sand filled the pit, and the skeleton's hand bones spread out and scattered due to the sand sliding down. They no longer maintained their pointing posture, as if the obsession that had lasted for decades was dissipated.

Putting the notebook in his pocket, Lu Li carried the lighthouse and walked to the other end of the mound, completely avoiding the pressure of the steam and moving smoothly along the winding upward hole.

After only walking a few meters, the hole suddenly became as wide as a cave. The numerous excavation marks on the rock wall meant that this was no longer the path dug by the owner of the bones.

It also means that many people have been here.

After walking a certain distance, Lu Li suddenly stopped and the lighthouse in his hand gradually dimmed until darkness engulfed Lu Li.

Ten seconds later, Lu Li bloomed the lighthouse again.

Ignoring the uneasiness caused by the darkness itself, Lu Li did not feel any strange presence in the darkness.

He is still deep underground, beyond the influence of strange things.

I hope that the corpse didn't come here accidentally like me.

Lu Li took out the dusty notebook from his pocket and opened it.

The first few pages of the notebook were torn out, and the new first page was ugly and messy with the same content densely written on it.

[Too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad.

Too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad, too bad]

The content on the first page seems to indicate the bones’ emotions during their lifetime.

Lu Li turned to the second page. The fonts were still messy, but they changed from simply venting to recording information.

[Why the sudden vibration? The road we came from collapsed, and my right hand was broken, damn, damn, damn, damn]

[I can’t use one hand at all, and it’s my left hand. I almost sprained my wrist when I swung the pickaxe]

[You shouldn’t act alone... I hope others can come and the oil lamp can still last for five hours, but the weirdness can’t come this deep, and it’s okay if there is no light. As long as I can overcome my fear and not lose my true sanity]

The owner of the note is obviously not an ordinary person - most ordinary people don't know what sanity is, let alone real sanity.

On the next page, the notes became even more scrawled and illegible, and the reasons were written on them.

[No, I can’t even lift the pen with my wrist. Why is my right hand broken? Why why why why why?]

[Another shock. I can’t sit here and wait for rescue. Where is the place outside? 】

[Incredible...what did I see? The temples of previous generations and their cities!]

Previous generation?

Lu Li thought.

Does it mean the previous generation of humans, or the intelligent humanoids known as the "previous generation"?

[This is the deepest place, and the miners almost dug them]

[Great engineering, they are more powerful than us, they are definitely not found in such deep and strange places. But why are there no traces of them? Is it because of the magma? 】

[Oh... Another disturbing vibration, why can't I feel it from above? I hope it's not caused by the things I think about]

[The pattern of stone pillars is very interesting, I suggest you go and see it when you come]

[The third vibration! This time it’s very weak, but it keeps ringing...it’s very noisy, I have to go take a look]

[It’s unbelievable. The water is overflowing and rushing towards the magma. The scene must be spectacular. Wait - water and magma? 】

[I am going to die, no matter who sees it, I am Nasram Araya, give this diary to my daughter Moni Araya, and tell her that all my possessions are in the fireplace of my former home

Under the floor next to her, someone said I love her. Remember, it’s me who loves her, not you]

An unknown father who was trapped in the palace due to an accident. He experienced the same things that happened to Lu Li, and finally died in despair in the cave.

When you close the note, the content inside brings a lot of information and a lot of questions.

Putting it away for the time being, Lu Li carried the oil lamp and walked up the mine-like cave.

After walking about a hundred meters, wooden support frames appeared on the edge of the rock wall, supporting the mine. There was a vague and faded wooden sign standing on the edge.
