Chapter 380 Antiques “Black Market” (6)

PreviousBack to directoryNext
If you feel like you have nothing to do in life, I advise you to read Huang Gongwang.

Huang Gongwang is familiar to many people. Even those who are not in the antique circle may have heard of his name.

Because he is the author of the famous national treasure "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains".

He spent nearly four years painting this painting, but unfortunately it was split into two parts for various reasons.

The first half of the volume is called: "The Picture of the Remaining Mountain".

The second half of the volume is: "The Volume of the Useless Master".

Since the author's surname is unknown, this "Ancient Picture" can only be auctioned as an anonymous painting, so the biggest selling point is naturally the inscription and postscript written by Huang Gongwang.

So after the calligraphy and painting display was completed, Huang Gongwang's life began to be played on the big screen.

The most eye-catching are the eight large characters in regular script: "Landscape is the first, the master of all generations."

Shen Yu knew Huang Gongwang very well.

In addition to the authentic works in the museum, Shen Yu has also seen several calligraphy and paintings that are suspected to be Huang Gongwang's original works.

Huang Gongwang is a giant in the history of painting, and there is no doubt about this.

It can be said that Huang Gongwang single-handedly pushed literati landscape painting to another peak.

His influence on future generations of painters is unparalleled.

For Ming and Qing painters, Huang Gongwang's influence was even greater than that of the painting sages Wu Daozi, Jing, Guan, Dong, Ju and other painting masters.

Painters of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially from the mid-Ming Dynasty to the entire Qing Dynasty, mostly advocated learning from the ancients.

Sometimes it has reached the point where every transaction has its origin and origin.

For example, if you paint a painting, and there are no traces of the ancients in the painting method, it will not be on the stage.

Some people say that painting without following the ancient tradition is like walking at night without a candle.

Some people even shouted directly: Every family has its own peak, and everyone is crazy.

It can be said that in the Ming and Qing dynasties, those who did not learn from Huang Gongwang meant that they did not study painting well and were practicing heresy.

Huang Gongwang, whose courtesy name is Zijiu, also known as Yifeng, and also known as the Great Idiot Taoist.

His real surname was Lu, but his parents died when he was young and he was adopted as an adopted son by a family named Huang, so he changed his surname to Huang.

It is said that Huang Gongwang was named by his adoptive father.

The adoptive father had no children, and he especially hoped to have a son. After seeing Huang Gongwang, he was extremely happy and said: "I, Huang Gongwang, have been looking forward to having a son for a long time, so you should be called Gongwang!"

When he arrived at his adoptive father's house, Huang Gongwang's fate completely changed.

His adoptive father came from a well-off family and was a famous local rich man, so Huang Gongwang instantly had the conditions to study.

He was talented and well-read, and soon he became proficient in calligraphy, proficiency in music, and good at poetry.

Among paintings, I like to paint landscapes the most.

The paintings handed down from generation to generation include "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains", "Quietness of the Water Pavilion", "Tianchi Stone Wall", "Nine Peaks with Snow", "Fuchun Mountains" and so on.

Huang Gongwang did not start learning painting at a young age.

In his early years, Huang Gongwang wanted to pursue an official career, which meant reading the Four Books and Five Classics and taking the imperial examination.

I look forward to learning civil and martial arts and selling them to the emperor's family, becoming a prince and becoming a prime minister, and honoring my ancestors.

It's a pity that the imperial examination was not held at that time, and there was no place to take the exam, so Huang Gongwang could only wait.

It was also because of his poor official career that Huang Gongwang did not become an unworthy scribe until he was 45 years old, and he was imprisoned because he was implicated by his superiors.

After being released from prison, Huang Gongwang was frustrated and became a Taoist priest, making a living by setting up a stall to tell fortunes and painting paintings for people.

Legend has it that Huang Gongwang met Zhang Sanfeng at this time, and even became good friends with Wudang Zhang Sanfeng.

He was called the Great Crazy Taoist because he observed the landscape to the point of being crazy and stupid.

Sometimes I sit in the mountains all day long, eat whatever I want when I'm hungry, drink some mountain spring water when I'm thirsty, and forget about food and sleep for more than ten days without necessarily being able to make a few moves.

Later, he realized that his painting skills were still not exquisite enough, and he sought advice from Zhao Mengfu, the number one literati in the Yuan Dynasty, on how to achieve the highest level of painting.

At that time, he was already 50 years old and at the age where he knew his destiny.

Zhao Mengfu was more than ten years older than Huang Gongwang. When Huang Gongwang asked for advice, Zhao Mengfu gave him careful advice and never kept anything private.

Although Zhao Mengfu is not among the four Yuan families, the four Yuan families combined may not be able to compare with him.

For example, when Huang Gongwang was seventy-nine years old, he wrote a poem after the "Thousand-Character Essay in Running Script" written by Zhao Mengfu himself: "Back then, I saw Gong drinking wine in person, and I was a primary and secondary school student in Songxuezhai."

This means that in front of Zhao Mengfu, Huang Gongwang was still a primary school student.

At the end of the volume of Zhao Mengfu's "Linhuang Ting Jing", he wrote directly: The great fool Huang Gongwang, bows before me.

For Zhao Mengfu, Huang Gongwang can be said to be a disciple.

Of course, Huang Gongwang is more of a student of Dong, giant landscape painting.

Dong Yuan and Ju Ran's landscape paintings can become the mainstream of the painting world, and Huang Gongwang is indispensable.

Because Huang Gongwang developed Dong Yuan and Juran's techniques of draping hemp to the extreme.

Since the Ming Dynasty, Huang Gongwang, Wu Zhen, Ni Zan, and Wang Meng have been honored as the "Four Yuan Families".

Of course, there is endless debate about who the four Yuan families are.

Many people rank Zhao Mengfu as number one.

But because Dong Qichang included Ni Zan and crossed out Zhao Mengfu, the four Yuan families have been passed down to this day.

There is also a theory of the six Yuan families, namely Zhao Mengfu, Gao Kegong, Huang Gongwang, Wu Zhen, Ni Zan, and Wang Meng.

Except for Wu Zhen, the hermit, among the four.

The relationship with the other three companies is good.

Because Huang Gongwang was born in the Southern Song Dynasty, in the eyes of future generations, he was the head of the "Four Yuan Families".

It can be said that after the Yuan Dynasty, no painter's influence can surpass Huang Gongwang.

Wang Shizhen said that "no brush is ineffective, no brush is uninteresting, and it is new in addition to the Song Dynasty method."

Zhong Sicheng praised: "The knowledge of the public is not inferior to that of others. He knows everything about the world. He does not give up on small skills. He is good at painting and long words. He can complete it as soon as he puts down a pen. Everyone respects him as a master."

Zheng Yuanyou even said directly: "Even when Jingguan is resurrected, he also retreats."

Even Jing Hao Guan Tong's resurrection is not as good as Huang Gongwang.

In the landscape painting circles of the Ming and Qing dynasties, many painters copied Huang Gongwang's works.

Among the four Ming Dynasties, Shen Zhou, Wen Zhengming, Tang Yin, Dong Qichang, etc. are all included here.

In the Qing Dynasty, the "Antique School" was even more influenced by it.

Huang Gongwang directly influenced Shen Zhou, the first painter in the Ming Dynasty.

Shen Zhou also influenced Wen Zhengming, Tang Yin, and Qiu Ying.

There is also Dong Qichang, who has learned the essence of Huang Gongwang's paintings and directly calls Huang Gongwang his teacher.

The influence on the Qing Dynasty was even greater. The four kings of the Qing Dynasty, the four landscape painters who were good at imitating the ancient times, Wang Shimin, Wang Jian, Wang Yun, and Wang Yuanqi studied Dong Qichang and Huang Gongwang.

Dong Qichang also respected Huang Gongwang as his master.

Huang Gongwang is the ancestor to the four kings.

The paintings of the Four Kings are now priced in the tens of millions, and Huang Gongwang’s paintings can be said to be priceless.

Shen Yu felt that if the inscription on this antique painting was really written by Huang Gongwang himself, one word would probably cost one million.

The final transaction price is likely to exceed 20 million yuan.

Even thirty to forty million is not impossible.

"Xiao Shen, since there is an inscription by the great idiot Taoist on the painting, let's go and take a look. It is definitely rare to see a painting with an inscription by Huang Gongwang, the leader of the four Yuan families!" Mr. Wu said in Wu An's With careful help, he stood up from the red sandalwood chair.

Shen Yu also gave him a little help.

Of course, this is just for show. Mr. Wu is in good health and does not need help at all. Shen Yu will not compete with Wu An for such "credit".

"Mr. Wu, please come first!" Shen Yu made a gesture of invitation.

"Let's go together!"

Wu Lao laughed and took Shen Yu's arm and walked towards the viewing platform.

Seeing Mr. Wu approaching, a large group of people gathered around the spacious viewing platform, whether they knew Mr. Wu's identity or not, immediately made way for Mr. Wu.

People who knew Mr. Wu kept saying hello, and many people had flattering expressions on their faces.

You must know that Mr. Wu is actually worth nearly 100 billion. In addition to his status as a super rich man, Mr. Wu is also a big boss in the antique circle and the jade circle. No one dares to offend him easily.

In today's terms, Mr. Wu's strength has long been out of the circle. Although Mr. Wu is from Dongjiang, he can still influence the fate of an ordinary antique merchant or jade merchant in Chuzhou.

For those who don’t know Mr. Wu, as long as they are not blind or stupid, they will not dare to refuse when they see Mr. Wu walking from the VIP table to the stage.

For a time, Shen Yu became the focus of the hall again.

Many people are extremely surprised. It stands to reason that even if a large family wants to "praise" their favorite grandchildren, they will not behave so "unscrupulously".

Mr. Wu’s behavior clearly means that this child is protected by me, Wu Ben and Wu Sanniu.

This is strange, what is the identity of this young man that Mr. Wu should take with him when he goes to the stage to see paintings?

For a time, people began to speculate about Shen Yu's identity again.

Shen Yu was also extremely grateful, "Mr. Wu really regards himself as his nephew!"

There is no doubt that those sitting in the auction hall are all prominent figures in antique circles across the country.

Shen Yu later had conflicts with them. The other party did not dare to be too arrogant because Mr. Wu was also known to throw rats away.

It can be said that Shen Yu has another talisman invisibly.
