Chapter 53: Their respective tasks

PreviousBack to directoryNext
The teaching assistants who were performing their tasks disappeared completely in the blink of an eye.

In the large empty office, apart from the eternally burning torches, there were only peaceful stone sculptures, sitting blankly on their respective stone seats, staring at the intricate patterns on the carpet in front of them.

Old Ruoyu stood silently at the top of the steps, holding his staff.

Ta,ta,ta.

Unhurried footsteps sounded behind the side door, and after a moment, they stopped beside old man Ruoyu.

"There are not many wizards who can circumvent the school's protective circle, evade the fortune-telling of the school's great diviners, set up a secret laboratory under the nose of First University, and conduct illegal magic experiments."

Professor Yao was wearing the bright red robe of Jiuyou College. While looking forward along the line of sight of old man Ruoyu, he said softly: "Even now, I don't have enough confidence to do this."

Ruoyu looked away and glanced at the new legend beside him.

"I know what you want to say."

The vice-president of the First University lowered his eyelids, with a trace of fatigue in his voice: "You want to say that this is not something that one or two wizards can do... but that it is the common 'cause' of many wizards, right?"

"The word career is a wonderful word." Professor Yao complimented.

This doesn't make Ruoyu feel any better.

"You want to dig them all out?" the old man asked.

Professor Yao did not deny the old wizard's speculation: "Although Zhang Yu is very reliable, the teaching assistant team are all young wizards after all, and it is inevitable that there will be times when things are not thorough..."

"I chose them just because they are young." Ruoyu interrupted: "Youth means cleanliness, it means there are ideals, it means they will not have anything to do with the laboratory in the Silent Forest... After all, fish and bears

You can’t have it both ways.”

"I am also very young."

Professor Yao rubbed his shiny back and said sincerely: "Especially judging from the qualifications of a legendary wizard, I should be the youngest one."

"You have other tasks."

Old Man Ruoyu rubbed the crutch in his hand and slowly but firmly rejected Professor Yao's another self-recommendation: "The stability of Alpha Castle, the Wizard of the North District, wandering, the Rat Man, and most importantly, the whereabouts of the Rat Immortal... Shi

After Hui leaves, you will need to supervise and take charge of these tasks. I am already old, and I am more suitable than you to wear a gray robe and clean the gardens for these children."

"I'm still the dean of Jiuyou. What does the stability of Alphaburg have to do with me? To put it bluntly, I'm happy to see them in a mess."

Old Ruoyu glanced at Professor Yao.

"Shut up."

He paused the wolf-head crutch in his hand and looked very rude: "You can't say this in private. After Emma failed to advance, you are the only wizard in the school who is qualified to take over Xiao Shihui's position... No matter Jiuyou or

Alpha, Starry Sky, Atlas, the children in the four academies are all your students. You must not favor one over the other."

Professor Yao took out his pipe from his pocket, bit it, and finally did not light it. Instead, he took the pipe away from his mouth again and sighed heavily:

"It's such a pleasant annoyance."

There is a bright sunshine above the tree canopy.

Under the canopy of trees it was as dark as the middle of the night.

Deep in the silent forest, most of the time, the forest is such an obscure scene. As far as the eye can see, there is lush green everywhere, birds sing gracefully a cappella in the depths of the invisible trees, and insects alternate in invisible corners.

Chirping, different high and low sounds are intertwined with each other, and there is harmony hidden in the chaos.

Five figures suddenly appeared in a forest clearing, but they did not stir up a ripple in the air. Even a certain yellow leaf falling in the wind still swirled to the ground according to its inherent trajectory.

The five wizards all wore loose black robes, were similar in size, and wore identical eyeless smooth masks on their faces. Only different symbols were marked with red cinnabar in the center of the masks, representing their different identities.

"Intelligence shows that the coordinates are here." The wizard with the word 'A' on the mask put away the parchment roll in his hand and whispered.

"It seems quite peaceful."

The wizard marked 'B' on the mask immediately saw the tree hole half a man's height hidden among the trees. His voice was exactly the same as that of the wizard marked 'A', but there was a little curiosity in his tone: "It's not at all like what I said before.

So scary..."

"Quiet doesn't mean safe."

Masked 'D' interrupted 'B''s ramblings, and warned in the same voice: "Don't waste time, the old rule is, one, three, one, fusiform battle formation, A in front, Wu in the back."

"Don't you need to wait for other teams?" Mask 'B' asked.

"According to the intelligence, this laboratory has multiple entrances and exits, and each team has its own mission. This entrance is our mission."

"That means we have no backup?"

"Shut up!"

"...You should have told us earlier, so that I would have a chance to write a suicide note..."

"Shut up!" Mask 'D' interrupted Mask 'B''s whisper for the second time - but because several people had the same voice, his warning was slightly funny - he took a breath and calmed down.

Then he gave the instructions again: "...Start checking each Dharma book."

This time, Mask ‘B’ finally became quiet.

After the five wizards confirmed that the condition of the book was normal, Mask ‘A’ spoke again:

"Phantom Talisman Preparation...Phantom Talisman Release."

Five figures disappeared into the forest one after another, and only subtle sounds sounded in the void, which were instantly submerged in the rustle of leaves colliding with each other and the soft chirping of birds and insects:

"Prepare the Silence Talisman!"

"The Silence Talisman has been released... Theoretically, we have interrupted the other party's warning magic."

"If the theory is useful, there will be no war in the wizarding world... prepare for the binding spell... remember what you said during the meeting, give priority to capture, and allow the use of killing spells when threatened."

"Prepare the Chaos Curse!"

“Hold the sobriety tablet under your tongue…always be vigilant!”

After a brief and rapid coordination, the five wizards hunched over, followed a one-three-one formation, opened their distance slightly, and entered the tree hole one after another.

The tree hole is located on an ancient oak tree. There are light yellow tree tumors rolling around the edge of the tree hole, like a door frame. After the guests entered for a moment, the circle of tree tumors squirmed very quickly, and a glimmer of light flashed on the tree tumors.

.

The corridor in the tree hole was very narrow at first, allowing only one person to bend through. However, not far away, the corridor gradually opened up and was surrounded by rough textures belonging to the trees. Not far away, there was an insect platform filled with tree sap.

Hanging on the wall, the insect platform is covered with fat light bugs, with swollen bellies, sucking the sap in the insect platform, and casting a faint halo.
